Guardian Says That You Need Higher Energy Bills

Why climate change needs higher energy bills | Duncan Clark | Environment | guardian.co.uk

Looks like Duncan Clark wins moron of the day.

Every nation is agreed that we should limit temperature rise and that the long-term future should be powered by abundant and inexpensive renewables, nuclear or CCS. But that doesn’t make it any easier or cheaper to leave the fossil fuels in the ground in the meantime – which is the only thing that matters to the climate.

Actually, fossil fuels are the only thing which matter to neurotic left-wing journalists who lack a basic understanding of science.

actually, if we all agree and submit to carbon reductions(aka pay through the nose for heating/cooling our homes etc), they can then modify the graphs again to show the cooling trend and then claim that our reductions have ‘saved’ the planet…

    Inexpensive renewables?

  3. John B., M.D. says:

Never mind that the European economy is on the verge of collapse.
That would reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Germany’s Nuclear Phase-Out Brings Unexpected Costs
‘the costs of moving toward renewable energy are just being realized, and low-income consumers are paying the price.’

German Power Grid Expansion to Cost Billions
‘Germany needs thousands of kilometers in new power lines in order to prepare for the country’s planned nuclear phase-out’

Without cheap energy German industry can’t compete. BIG problem. Don’t think Germany is doing fine. They too have less other people’s money to spend. Green is great when you are rich. when you ‘re poor you’ll burn anything to stay warm. The hell with pollution.

Meanwhile UK has been reducing it CO2 and reaping rewards from it. Drought for the beginning of the year, now its floods.

    100,000,000,000 € + ( interest rate of between 3% and 4% ) / 47,000,000 people = 2127.66 € + ( interest rate of between 3% and 4% ) pp

  8. Billy Liar says:

Don’t these dopes know that all those ‘abundant and inexpensive renewables’ end up as heat at the point they are expended? Oh, I forgot, it’s ‘green’ energy, it defies the law of conservation of energy.

  9. It’s cool to care about poor people. But poor people don’t heat their houses, poor people don’t buy food, and poor people don’t need to go anywhere, so raising energy prices only hurts the rich.

UK could be powered by Iceland volcanoes

    http://www.icenews.is/index.php/2012/06/08/uk-could-be-powered-by-iceland-volcanoes/

Engineered geothermal system (EGS) technology harnesses the earth’s natural energy by pumping water into wells of thousands of metres deep so it can be warmed on hot rocks and used as a sustainable and low carbon power source.
