Time Travel Ahead Of The Mayan Apocalypse

I am spending the Mayan apocalypse in Mexico (of course) and have traveled back in time to the 1990s of phone modem Internet speeds at Five star resorts. It is almost impossible to do anything on the Internet and I will not be posting much over the few days.

We will be suffering at the beach in 80 degree weather – caused by evil climate change. Warm climates are simply unbearable.

Dreaming of Winnipeg ………..

I had the same problem in Las Vegas back in October. Internet speeds were the pits!

  2. Me says:

 Enjoy the Holliday, and Merry Christmas.

Have fun. But stay safe. I think Mexico has strict gun laws, so you can’t be too careful.

  4. Jambon-X says:

Mexico, eh? Smart move. Get your hands on some of those Fast & Furious weapons – the Assault Weapons Officially Approved by the Obama Administration and the Holder DOJ.

Enjoy the warmth and vacation, Steve and family.

Watch out for stray bolides. The last one made quite a splash on the Yucatan

  6. Fred from Canuckistan says:

That’s “Winterpeg” for all you beach mongers.

Last time I came back from Mexico, I was greeted with an enormous phone bill. Apparently the internet connection was so slow that it spent hours sending even one email. Thankfully AT&T understood and made it all go away.

    Safe travels.

Oh, and pick me up a new Mayan calendar while you are down there! ;)

  8. LLAP says:

Merry Christmas Steve! All the best to you and yours.

  9. kbray in california says:

Hopefully you’ll make it back to Colorado before the end of the world.
My current calendar stops on December 31.
Since I didn’t buy a new one yet, this must be the real date for the end of the world.
You have an extra 10 days to get back home.
Have fun until it’s done !
    Enjoy !

    “Winnipeger” to Steve — ok let’s switch….
    “Steve” to Winnipeger – NOT….

  11. peterh says:

Well my mother lives in Mexico and has faster internet than I do here in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Kalifornia.

We’re lucky to get dial up speeds, both on cell and fiber.

  12. Enjoy all that Big Oil money while you’re down there, Steve :-)

  13. Sparks says:

Have a good time Steve, It’s cold, wet, grey and miserable and windy outside here again. Maybe if I offset my heavily taxed and efficient lifestyle with a carbon foot-print the weather will get better.

  14. gregole says:

    Steven,

Have a great time – party like it’s 12-21-12 – Hey! Wait it is!

Merry Christmas and keep up the great blog.

  15. As long as Al Gore doesn’t decide to vacation in the immediate vicinity, you should have a nice time.

Merry far away Christmas to you!

In the morning Steve, when you are on top of the pyramid and calling down Kukulkan remember us, the little people.
    Enjoy.
