Top Climate Scientist : Melting Arctic Causing -34 Temperatures In New Mexico

ScreenHunter_409 Jan. 20 15.33

Twitter / TucsonPeck: + #SWClimate – big question: …

The principle is simple. Warm, toasty air in the Arctic is melting the ice. Then the warm Arctic air plunges south and cools sixty or seventy degrees as it mixes with warm tropical air.

Using climate math, the average of 80 and 32 is -34. Most climate scientists probably never should have made it past third grade.

Last winter, missing Arctic ice made the US warm, but this winter it is making the US cold.

Warm air Falling South is compressed and that cools it off. ;)
Or Overpeck should STFU because he does not know WTF he is talking about.
    Personally I pick option 2! :)

      • Me says:

WOW Eric, I clicked on your link, and guess what happened?

      • Me says:

I should have realised it was the dot com site and not the wordpress site, but I have a very good internet security, Sooooooo!

      • Eric Simpson says:

I don’t know what happened, Me. One thing I note is that when I went to the link it just said “Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop up window.” Is it related to that? It’s a shame if there’s an issue with the link as it used to be my “home” comment that I linked to under my name.
… For a shameless plug, now I link under my name to this 3 minute youtube that calls out Algor for the bullshit he serves up about CO2. It’s a “must see,” and really, must share, because 99% of the public doesn’t know this about CO2. Help get the word out about this very important video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK_WyvfcJyg&info=GGWarmingSwindle_CO2Lag

      • Me says:

You do realise steven’s dot com site was taken over and he moved back to the word press one that he had.

      • Eric Simpson says:

Well, that much I was told, by “hackers.” But I go to that specific comment pretty often just to refer to the warmist quotes I put up. Can you say there is any specific problem with visiting the Real-Science dot com site? As also a lot of other comments I, and I assume Me, made are “archived” there.

      • Me says:

Yeah, that was before it was taken over, and I didn’t say it was hackers as Steven told us what it was about.

      • Robert Austin says:

That’s the Bizarro Real Science site run by the Bizarro Steven Goddard and evidently frequented by the Bizarro Me!

      • Me says:

        Projecting thar Robert!

    • Eric Simpson says:

I’m prepared to let this one go. I mean, I don’t really have an answer on whether there is a specific threat from visiting real-science dot com, other than the fact that I go there a lot, and my computer hasn’t got a virus or anything. And, yes, Steven informed us on some of the stuff that was going on with Real Science dot com, but I don’t really remember (or I missed) the details. But I like the wordpress site better anyway.

  2. Eric Simpson says:

    What unbelievable Orwellian bullshit.
    Absolute hogwash.
But we can expect only cow manure to dribble out of the mouth of the guy (Overpeck) who apparently was involved in laying the foundation of bullshit to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period. According to Steve McIntyre:

There has been a considerable amount of speculation over the past few years about which “leading” climate scientist told David Deming that we have to “get rid of” the Medieval Warm Period, including speculation (e.g. ukweatherworld) that it was Jonathan Overpeck (recently one of two Coordinating Lead Authors of AR4 chapter 6).

  3. Jakehearts54 says:

Jonathan Overpeck has said some crazy things in the Climategate 1 and 2 emails. The most telling was “We must get rid of the Medieval Warm Period” – IMO the most significant one of them all.

  4. Sundance says:

Overpeck overpecked his keyboard and has too many “is” in his tweet and he didn’t use a question mark. This is what happens when you have slave labor, ie. grad students, doing all your work for you. :-)

  5. I think a speculative paper came out a few years, post hoc, that tried to explain the cold temperatures in terms of Arctic ice melt. (I’d have to look up the the name of the paper, which I’ve forgotten.) Strangely, this dubious single paper, becomes the climate orthodoxy/consensus explanation for every time it’s cold in the Northern hemisphere…

  6. dmmcmah says:

Leonardo is on the case – pumping out tons of CO2 in the process:

“I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment,” added DiCaprio, in comments published in German.

    • “My roof is covered with solar panels. My car is electric. A normal person does not drive more than 50km a day. That can be done with a plug.”

Apparently salesmen, field service technicians, couriers, taxi drivers, tradesmen, and so on, aren’t “normal”. Although I also suspect normal people can’t afford a few dozen motor cars in their garage to swap, depending on their use for the day.

  7. Jusat Joe says:

Whatever… Maybe “rapid” arctic sea ice decline caused the last ice-age?

  8. Billy Liar says:

“The trouble with Twitter, the instantness of it – too many twits might make a twat.”
