Arctic Ice Area One Million Km^2 Higher Than Last Year

The record thin, rotten ice left over from last year is caught up in its final death spiral.

  1. BobW in NC says:

And Arctic temperatures are still well below normal nearing the upper plateau before dropping again: http://ocean.dmi.dk/arctic/meant80n.uk.php

  2. snarks-alot says:

Dear Leader Messiah has put his laser like focus into lowering the ocean levels and is so cool that the ice has increased in the Artic region.

  3. Billy Liar says:

Even DMI is showing a little uptick:

    • F. Guimaraes says:

(you mean 2 million km^2.. :-) ) the rate of decrease of ice area is slower now than in all recent years, except possibly 2009, and that is what I believe could make the whole difference this summer.

      • F. Guimaraes says:

The good news is the temperatures in the Arctic were slightly hotter last year (in May and June)

and this could be what is needed for the rate of decrease to continue as it’s now (relatively low).
If we have a summer ice area like 2009, it’ll be a great victory against the GW fraud.

  4. Blade says:

Man, if that ice keeps hugging that dotted mean right through the season the AGW cult will collapse like a house of cards.

Dear mother nature, please make it so!

    • NoMoreGore says:

It will Never happen. The magic purple pen will “adjust” that evil ice out of existence.
The ministry of truth hath spoken. The arctic will be “Ice Free” (which apparently describes a place with a lot of ice remaining) – if only in the virtual world.

What we really should do is focus on pointing out that no satellite record exists prior to the late 70s, so it is impossible to know what summer extent is “normal”.

    • F. Guimaraes says:

You said it all, AGW is almost dead. All we need is a full year without big summer surprises.

  5. Latitude says:

but but but…we were told that thin ice melts faster….and will continue to melt even faster

How does the air know how thick the ice is??? snark

  6. omnologos says:

where’s Appell? we need be told that’s what scientists predicted all along!

    • Anyone can parrot him easily enough:

      (1) The world is still warming if we look at the 30 year trend therefore Warmists are vindicated.

      (2) The heat’s all gone to the bottom of the ocean.

  7. Andy DC says:

Get out those icebreakers! According to the alarmist method of measuring ice, a crack in the ice means no ice.

  8. SMS says:

How long before the AGW crowd starts telling us that ice extent needs “adjusting”?

  9. Andy Oz says:

That ice is rotten and full of holes and is super thin.

At least that is what David Appell, Michael Mann et al would say.

    • Kyle Towers says:

They would say that because it’s true, denier.

      • Andy Oz says:

You cut me deep Kial. Real deep. I think I’ll have to believe in CAGW now like all warmist evangelists do. When do we all drink Kool Aid together? You go first. I’ll follow.

      • gofer says:

The trouble with skeptics is nothing is true unless you have some proof and not opinions or crystal balls or absurd projections based on nothing. You ignore all the projections, over the years, that it should have already melted by now. It’s just a repeat of the same tired old crap trying to keep the lie alive.
