Emperor Penguins have to march an extra 35 km, due to Antarctic sea ice expansion.

Antarctic sea ice extent reached 19.47 million square kilometers (7.52 million square miles) on September 22, a record high maximum extent relative to the satellite record, and slightly above the previous record high set last year. This year’s maximum extent was 3.6% higher than the 1981 to 2010 average Antarctic maximum, representing an ice edge that is 35 kilometers (approximately 22 miles) further north on average. Overall, Antarctic September sea ice extent is increasing at 1.1% per decade relative to the 1981 to 2010 average.

But Steve it’s worse than that.
Snow is interfering in soccer matches.
Galatasaray (Turkey) v Juventus (Italy) abandoned due to heavy snow (as reported on iceagenow.info)

Forecasts are for more snow throughout the region.

  2. Andy Oz says:

Look. This is a disaster. I’m gonna do my bit to save the penguins. We need more CO2 to warm the place up. This weekend I’ll drive my SUV around, light the barbecue and run the air conditioner all weekend especially since it will be 38-40 deg C.
I might be able to save one or two penguins but I’m only one person.

  3. All that sea ice and all this cooling is great because it makes fools of the libtards, but I really don’t want cooling. I’d rather not go back to the LIA, please.

  4. Adelaide penguins also have to walk farther each winter. They live on the edge of the fast ice.

  5. David Suzuki says:

Maybe the polar bears can eat them.

    • John says:

Polar Bears live in the Artic, not the Antarctic(Penguins). However if this Ice Age thing catches on, the two Ice Caps can meet in the middle and we can get the two PETA poster children together and have Lunch.
