  1. John M says:

Brilliant! And the author put his finger on the crux of the matter: the survival of a billion-dollar research industry depends on perpetuating global warming theory. It’s probably a 100 billion-dollar industry by now.

  2. Cheshirered says:

    Ha.
Post this sort of *fact* on CiF these days and you WILL be moderated into oblivion.
But rest easy…they’re Liberals, dontcha know.

  3. David Pittelli says:

That was back when Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who started the global warming scare as a cudgel to use against the coal miners union, was fresh in the memory of the Left.

  4. G. Watkins says:

As I’m sure you know, Stephen, Nigel Calder co-wrote The Chilling Stars with Svensmark.

  5. usurbrain says:

They even taught this in middle/high school general science classes in the 50′s

  6. Rosco says:

Inigo Jones was onto this sunspot climate relationship more than 60 years ago. His long range weather forecasts became legendary for their accuracy among those who rely on weather – farmers.

John Daly was promoting research into the ENSO and the NAO instead of wasting money on CO2.

It also seems that weather records show a cyclic behaviour – why isn’t that surprising.

All that research money wasted – Shame no-one listened really.
