How About Those Scousers?

After suffering through the most boring Champions League semi-finals week in history, now Gerrard screws up at Anfield.

Perhaps my Man City prediction wasn’t so stupid after all.

but when the ice melts…they’re all going to die….or something like that

Five meters of ice- about 16 feet thick – is threatening the survival of polar bears in the Southern Beaufort Sea region along Alaska’s Arctic coast, according to Dr. Susan J. Crockford, an evolutionary biologist in British Columbia who has studied polar bears for most of her 35-year career.

That’s because the thick ice ridges could prevent ringed seals, the bears’ major prey, from creating breathing holes they need to survive in the frigid waters…

    […]

There were comparably high levels of spring ice in the Beaufort Sea in 2004 and 2006, when bear counts were “one of the pieces of evidence used to have the bears listed as ‘threatened’ in the U.S.,” Crockford pointed out.

“Polar bear biologists were finding some bears quite thin and found a population decline,” she said, which they attributed to melting summer ice caused by global warming.

“But the biologists were not there to see the thick [spring] ice. All they saw was thin bears,” she pointed out. “They blamed the poor condition of the bears on summer ice, instead of acknowledging that it was likely the condition of the ice in the spring that was the cause of the problem.”

Man. City look to be the favourites now. Roman Abramovich will probably sack Jose Mourinho for being boring (again)

Keep that crystal ball, it’s a keeper again… LMAO

One would not want to be on the opposing side for the remaining very few games against Chelsea or Man City. The goalies are going to feel like they’re living in Chicago.

Everton could be tough – win that, and I think we’ll win the league. But over 50 years of supporting City means I never ever predict what will happen with us. We are a club with an extraordinary history – the only club to have got relegated the season after winning the title, the only club to have scored and conceded over 100 goals in a season, the first club to win both domestic and European honours, largest attendance at a club game outside the national stadia (03/03/1934 Stoke City 84569 F.A. Cup) and the first Manchester club to win silverware. Meanwhile – thanks Jose, you guys did a job on Liverpool yesterday

I remember when Bert Trautmann broke his neck in the 1956 Cup Final – no subs in those days – you just had to carry on !
