Hurricanes In The 1940s

During the period 1941-1950, twenty-four hurricanes made landfall in the US – including ten major hurricanes. This was the most active decade for hurricanes since at least 1850.

Check out the 1950 season above. There were six major hurricanes by September 8.

CO2 levels were 310 ppm at the time, well below Hansen’s safe level of 350 ppm.

I’m willing to bet that Romm won’t be talking about that this weekend.

    The 2005 season was a banner one. Yet I wonder how many of the 27 storms of 2005 would have been classified before the era of satelites?
