CBC Makes It Official – The Sun Does Not Affect The Climate

Canuck reporter making fun of Americans for not being stupid like he is.

Global warming confuses Americans

The poll reveals that almost half of Americans — 49 per cent — incorrectly believe that the space program contributes to global warming, and that the hole in the ozone layer, toxic wastes, aerosol spray cans, volcanic eruptions, the sun and acid rain also play a role.

He probably is a fresh graduate of the Suzuki school of dissonant science.

When you hire based upon political ideology instead of journalistic competency, you are going to get vegetables like him. Actually, in journalism, he is more the rule than the exception.

  2. James Sexton says:

Lunatics, displaying his arrogance is only exceeded by his ignorance.

  3. Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

How come Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon will cool us till 2030-2040 according this this journal article, but the sun doesn’t?

  4. Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

    wow I’m confused.

So Volcanoes don’t change the climate?

So CFCs, ok then if CFC’s don’t effect the ozone layer, which controls climate that proves that CFCs never did anything then hahahaha

Space program, oh ok, it doesn’t produce Greenhouse gases, only your light bulbs do.

The sun? Oh no it cannot effect anything.

Acid rain, oh sulfur dioxide, oh that never effects anything.

ahhahaha for once USA is smarter then Canada :PPPP

  5. TinyCO2 says:

This sort of thing illustrates how 2 dimensionally the media and people designing surveys think, especially where it comes to climate change. They want a black or white answer and reject anything that comes in grey. Actually I think I’m being generous, deduct another dimension.

The real question was not ‘do they have a role’ but ‘how big a role and are they positive or negative.’

  6. R. de Haan says:

Our media, (governmental) institutions, non profits and politics are infested with this kind of hacks.
It will take a really big mental institution to lock them up.

  7. Scott says:

So my farts are killing the earth, but NASA has a zero carbon footprint and doesn’t combust anything?

Probably the only thing on that list that someone might be able to convince me of NOT affecting to AGW is acid rain, and even it does through changes in vegetation and land use (and of course the cause of acid rain also affects climate…).

We’re told over and over again that all these little things here and there contribute significantly, but then we’re supposed to think that volcanoes don’t affect the radiation budget or that the primary driver of all energy in our solar system doesn’t either?

What I get from the survey is that 51% of Americans can’t think critically.

    Give me a break.

    • Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

You can’t have acid rain without it’s cause, sulfur dioxide, which is a very good cooler of the planet 😛

      • Scott says:

Did you read my original comment where, in parentheses, I said:

and of course the cause of acid rain also affects climate…

And it’s not SO2 that cools the earth, it’s the resulting aerosols that come from SO2 that do the cooling. 😛
