They did learn to add the word COULD into the heading….

  2. TinyCO2 says:

Don’t be mean. It’s getting a conspicuously long time since 1998.

  3. R. de Haan says:

Met Office can close it’s doors after this winter.

  4. lance says:

with adjusted data, yes it could become the hottest….

  5. Mike Davis says:

They are right 2010 will reach record levels. Whether it is 10 warmest or 30th coldest in 150 years it replaces some other year for that place in the record books unless it ties then it becomes a record for tying for that place.

  6. Lazarus says:

“A record warm year in 2010 is not a certainty, especially if the current El Niño was to unexpectedly decline rapidly near the start of 2010, or if there was a large volcanic eruption. We will review the forecast during 2010 as observation data become available.”

    A fairly balanced assessment.

  7. John Edmondson says:

This is the Met office prediction for the next few years, basically red hot.
