Are these primarily climate scientists or mostly bureaucrats?
The grant money is one motivator but I can see that cash for carbon transfers from the G8 towards the D100 would involve a lot of handling where a little off the top would be appropriate…

Good old David Viner ( he of “snow would soon be a thing of the past” fame) has landed a plum job at the British Council promoting climate change. I have no doubt this involves some serious troughing.

In Jan he organised a get together in Brussels. Heading the list was some Dutch princess – I can’t quite see her eating cheese sandwiches.

The 130 guests included the following:-

HRH Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands, Chair of the European Cultural Foundation
King Creosote (Kenny Anderson), musician and founder of the Fence Collective
Nic Balthazar, director and winner of Grand Prix award at the Montréal World Film Festival
David Cerný, controversial Czech sculptor (“Entropa”)
    Lia Perjovschi, Romanian visual artist
Prof John Schellnhuber, former advisor to German chancellor Angela Merkel
Prof Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, Vice-Chair of the IPCC
    Susannah York, British actress

We clearly have nothing to worry about with experts like these around.

Yes, rationing is for the working drones of the world, the elitists can continue to party. Ahh, that fresh smell of hypocrisy to wake up to each morning.
