Met Office Can Predict Hurricanes In Future Years

I’ll bet they can name them too. (5.0 hurricane Cassandra will strike Exeter on December 31, 2047.)

There seems to be no limit to their endless stream of BS.

Met Office Decadal Climate Prediction System (DePreSys), can extend successful storm activity forecasts beyond the current season, providing predictions years ahead.

And every-time they name a wind gust our insurance rate goes up

    What a surprise!

The insurance industry were given a blank cheque when scientists and governments said the models were correct and the “science was settled”.

This allowed the industry to utilise models to set premiums. Typical example – model predicted 11 landfall hurricanes to hit Florida before the end of 2010. Premiums rose to cover for 11 big ones. How many actually hit ZERO, big fat nil.

Will the industry reimburse the premiums, reduce future premiums? The hell they will. The models predict so you must pay.

The cost of (profit) insurance will continue to rise, not because of actual incidents but because the models say so. The industry has its own models, based on those developed by climate science, so we have a model developed by people with a vested interest who got a model developed by people who had a vested interest.

As usual it will be the poorest that suffer the most, the ones that can no longer afford insurance.

The responsibility for this state of affairs lies firmly with those that cried “the science is settled” all of them, including the few that visit here.

O the opportunities that false markets and subsidies present

“Joining them was British climate physicist Mark Saunders, who argued that insurers could use model predictions from his insurance-industry-funded center to increase profits 30 percent.”

    Complete and utter bullshit!

  4. PhilJourdan says:

Great! Now they can corner the market in Vegas and cut off all government funding! Let them live off the fruits of their predictions!

  5. Martin says:

At least your taxes don’t pay for these clowns……..mine do! Grrrrrrr! 🙁

  6. AndyW says:

Met office hurricane models have always been less accurate than the USA as well.
