It was 5 p.m. local time (1400 GMT) on Saturday, and amid heavy snow several ambulances with flashing blue lights were rushing toward downtown Moscow on the main road connecting the Domodedevo airport.
Just hours ago, a Tu-154 plane of Dagestan Airlines with 160 passengers and nine crew members on board skidded off the runway during an emergency landing at the Domodedevo airport, killing two people and injuring more than 80 others. Some of the injured were in critical condition.
