    Apparently so ..
    ‘On several occasions during the last century very large areas of pastoral country in Arizona were almost depleted of stock through severe and long continued drought, and its carrying capacity was injured to such an extent that on one ranch “where 20,000 cattle had formerly ranged only a few hundred can now find existence.”‘
