Joe D’Aleo sent this over. US winter temperatures are dropping at a rate of between thirteen and eighty-seven degrees per century.
This is exactly what the climate models predicted, and exactly what Jeff Masters means when he talks about global warming making it snow more.
Thanks for all you do; love your work.
Were did you get this info — it is great stuff.
I was a children, & now I don’t even know what snow was. Thanks gobble worming.
(Apologies in advance if this is just garbage, I didn’t have a preview)
failed to embed the picture, oh well
I love the way our climate knows where all the state borders are and limit it’s cooling/warming to within those borders.
I’m pretty sure just a result of the way Steve (or whoever is responsible) did the analysis. You’ve got to place the edge of your bins somewhere.
Since nine out the last ten years were the warmest ever, the data presented has not been properly adjusted.
My station shows about -4C over that period of time (excel trend line)
the NCEP Models make interesting viewing for early winter across the Northern Hemisphere.
Wow, what an interseting perspective. I wonder if our host might consider taking those graphs and determining the predicted temperature anamoly for the Dec-Jan-Feb window via pixel counting. Not worth TOO much, sure – but curious nonetheless.
