US Precipitation Shows No Correlation With Temperature

This is the entire NCDC annual data set for the US, going back to 1895. People claiming that warmer temperatures bring more precipitation are simply not telling the truth.

The average temperature for the ten wettest years is 52.86. The average temperature for all years is also 52.86.

If you adjusted the lower temp data properly, i see the beginnings of a hockey stick at the end. YOu must be a denier for not doing the scientific adjustment that 97% of the real scientists would have done.

Excellent. This blog is superb – the best climate blog I know of.

    I’m with DEEBEE.

I think if you “worked” the data a bit – you know – made some robust adjustments based on “skill” and then got some public funding so you could develop a highly personalized and private data mining and processing AlGoreRythm (AKA Mannian Statistics) you could probably get your work through peer review and show…well you could probably show just about anything…/Sarc

  4. Independent says:

Your graph clearly shows that both warm and cold cause extreme storms. Repent before it’s too late!

  5. Robert Austin says:

Your graph must be incorrect. We are waiting for Ill wind blowing to instruct us how his/her elementary school hydrological cycle means the inevitable increase in global precipitation.

  6. TinyCO2 says:

Does it vary by month? The UK has wetter winters as it warms but drier summers.

    • Grumpy Grampy ;) says:

The wetter Winters and dryer Summers may be what is causing the warming rather than the “Warming” being the cause.
