Shock News : Man Made CO2 May Delay The Next Ice Age

Do these geniuses ever stop and think about what they are complaining about?

High levels of carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere mean the next ice age is unlikely to begin for at least 1,500 years, according to a recently published article in the journal Nature Geoscience.

Officially, the earth has been in an interglacial, or warmer period, for the last 10,000 to 15,000 years, and estimates vary on how long such periods last.

“(Analysis) suggests that the end of the current interglacial (period) would occur within the next 1,500 years, if atmospheric CO2 concentrations do not exceed (around) 240 parts per million by volume (ppmv),” the study said.

However, the current carbon dioxide concentration is of 390 ppmv, and at that level an increase in the volume of ice sheets would not be possible, it added.

    CO2 doesn’t do squat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK_WyvfcJyg. CO2 isn’t going to delay anything.

The response of the journalists-turned global warming activists is not surprising. Their egos won’t permit them to question a lie they’ve believed for so long. They will defend the alarmist AGW
theory to the bitter end — until the arrival of the bitter cold. At which time, they will claim the cold would have been far worse if not for the influence of AGW.

It’s impossible to reason with such people.

    Do brainfarts contain methane?
If they do we could be in big trouble…

    Nothing but guessing games.

Steve, wasn’t the last ice age at 2000+ PPM? If so, what does this have to do with “delaying” the next ice age?

I believe I read an article articulating those facts on this website, if I’m not mistaken.

I’m purely a layman that tries to stay up on the data. Thanks Steve for sticking with it after your other website hi-jack.

For God’s sake everyone, keep driving that SUV, flying to IPCC junkets, stoking that wood oven, run that air-conditioner 24/7 or we’re all going to FREEZE!

Hopefully we humans will have tours of Enceladus before then so that we won’t have to wait 1500 years to enjoy the exileration of spending time on a snowball planet.

  8. Rosco says:

This is the one thing that has always intrigued me. Where I live – 27 degrees south on the coast it is higly unlikely the average temperature – currently around 24 C – ever approached the current global average of about 14 C – even during an ice age. There were certainly no glaciers here.

Yet it is people who live in the colder parts of the world that seem terrified of a little warming.

I would have thought people in the colder areas of the world might have appreciated a little “free” warmth – go figure !

    • nigelf says:

Living in Canada I appreciate it Rosco, and most of the people here do too. During the unusual March warmth this year all you heard was how great it was, even on the news and weather reports. But some peoples brains turn to mush when they’re told to expect more of that kind of weather. Given cold or warmer than normal sane people here choose warmer all the time, as do people the world over in temperate climates. They can’t fit the round peg into the square hole so they just pretend it fits and deny the benefits of warmer weather.

  9. kirkmyers says:

If I were a plant, I’d be somewhat upset with the CO2 Abolitionists. What, trying to cut off my CO2? The moron Greenies ought to thank to their lucky stars there is no Plant Mafia. Imagine waking up with dead vegetables under the bedspread.

To paraphrase Robert Frost: “Exhales make good green neigbors.” And what could be more neighborly than fertilizing our good plant friends with a few extra breaths.

The dishonesty of today’s end-of-days climatologists will one day provide fodder for an Academy Award winner. Produced and directed by Greta Carbo.

Furthermore, 240 ppm CO2 is dangerously LOW. Plants stop growing at 200 ppm and begin to die below 180-190 ppm. These people are either idiots or political stooges who have to push the agenda regardless of whether what they claim has anything to do with reality or not. There needs to be a major indictment in the near future in which these con artists are charged and convicted of high crimes against humanity as the agenda they are pushing is meant to harm and kill millions if not billions.
