Hiding The Decline In Texas

The raw USHCN data from Texas shows a decline of nearly half a degree since 1930.

Fortunately, NCDC was able to stop this unpleasant cooling trend by simply altering the data. There were quite a few years warmer than 2012 prior to 1960, but our friends at NOAA simply washed them away.

  1. Eric Webb says:

Well, I have completely lost trust in NOAA and the NCDC to report temperatures, they are completely entrenched on the pro AGW side of the debate. Did you see where they said the US had it’s warmest start to the year ever (JAN-JUN)? I wonder how much temperatures were manipulated there too

I can just hear the CAGW Marketing boys in this week’s meeting:
‘Ok, we were ‘Global Warming’, but the globe began to cool, so we went with ‘Climate Change’. But that doesn’t seem to be connecting with the public either, so what’s next?

‘Well, it’s summer in the US, and some parts of it have been pretty hot, so how ’bout: ‘Some of US is on Fire!’ Get it? ‘Some of US….United States….

      ‘I like it! Now, a logo…I see a Colorado pine in flames…’

      • Eric Webb says:

‘yeah then maybe we should adjust temperatures even higher than they actually are to make it look really “unprecedented,……… then get all of the press and media to report on it so it looks like it’s a big deal…..’
‘……..and anyone who doesn’t believe should be called racists or deniers’
        ……….’Yeah, that’ll get ’em going!’

  2. scizzorbill says:

Michael Mann could hide the decline by waving his magic hockey stick, and invert the downtrend line. Quick and easy. Insert fake temps along the line, and, SHAZAM! a warming trend to agree with the Agenda..

  3. kirkmyers says:

If any temperature adjustments are necessary, they should be in the downward direction to account for the influence of the urban heat island (UHI) effect. We’ll see that happen when pigs fly.

By now, it should be clear to most rational observers that NASA and NOAA are resorting to data manipulation in a last-ditch attempt to resurrect their collapsing AGW theory. Money and reputations are at stake, so the planet must be made to warm at all costs.

  4. Andy DC says:

NOAA has simply become a propaganda tool manipulated by the hands of alarmists. People working there smell something fishy but keep their mouths shut.

    • kirkmyers says:

I’m sure there are many NASA and NOAA scientists who, in the interest of job security, are afraid to speak out publicly against the AGW fraud. By remaining silent, they remain employed.

Several retired NASA astronauts have stepped forward recently and criticized the agency for making unsubstantiated predictions of castrophic global warming and destroying NASA’s credibility. We need to see more of that type of intellectual honesty.

      • Eric Barnes says:

How disappointing it must be for the newly minted federal employees who actually want to do real science to find that science takes a back seat to political/bureaucratic agenda. Sooner rather than later, these people should make a stand on principle. Compromising like that is no way to live your life.

  5. Eric Webb says:

Even if we suddenly went into an ice age, and mammoths suddenly sprang up everywhere, it still wouldn’t change these people’s minds because they have an agenda and are too ignorant and incompetent to ever change their mind. This is only helped by the fact that they are payed in millions by the government which encourages them to keep the lie going.

  6. Jason Calley says:

Yes, the NASA and NOAA temperature numbers are just as reliable as the official federal numbers on inflation, national debt, and unemployment — and are manipulated for exactly the same reasons.
