McKibben – Scared Of His Own Shadow

You can’t make this stuff up

Twitter / billmckibben: Extreme Greenland heat has …

Then he links to this on Neven’s site

In Greenland, it has been very hot over the inland ice in comparison to normal conditions. On July 11th at 15 UTC the recorded temperature at the Summit Camp weather station, which is located at the ice cap’s highest altitude (3200 metres), was 2.2 degrees Celsius. That is quite high for this height, particularly in light of the fact that ice has a relatively high albedo.

2.2 C is hot? Summit Camp is averaging -10C this month and went just barely over freezing for a few hours, like it does almost every summer.

This is what the McKibben/Neven meltdown looks like today

These people live in a constant world of hysterics – over absolutely nothing.

It has been so cold that the thermometer took a day off on the 15th

  2. colderside says:

Temp hits 37F??? Happens when someone leaves the door open for over 10 seconds if the wind is right!!!

  3. cb says:

Expert (BM) interpretation of the data = vs other expert (SG) interpretation of the data.
… How to decide between them? Why, ‘consensus’ of course – which is one thing and one thing only: ‘debate’.

People who do not lie, reason with each other. People who lie (ex. politicians, et al), debate each other.

“Science is a social and cultural activity through which explanations of natural phenomena are generated.”
… Ya can’t make this stuff up!

When the above is in the textbooks, is what is taught… Then ‘science’ is dead.
… As it turns out, hippies are the anti-thesis of Fact, Logic and Reason… why? Well, liars destroy each of those things, systematically. How is this possible you may ask: because each of those 3 things is FRAGILE. If this were not so, Newton would not have been necessary. Passing tests with 100% scores would be common. All complexities would fade before even the smallest of intellects. (Evolution, anyone? Bleh.)

So science, which is derivative, is DEAD.
Behold the works of the Hippies, all ye who toil hard, and weep, for they are the Children of Hell, and a great Darkness follows in their wake. Fear their followers, for they are indeed very, very, stupid.

And so millions will die in the miseries of poverty, and are even now dying: for the hippies are ascendant, and there are none left to oppose them, for the salt has lost its savor, and become as the hippies are.

The Great Enemy is however not the hippies: but those that enable them… Those who protect the hippies from harm. Hard-core pedophiles like Keynes were exalted by the hippies of their time, and are still exalted by the hippies of this time. Why? Because of the Good People, those who always do nothing as the rapes go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

But hey, I’m an unreasonable, immature, a-hole, aren’t I. Tsk, tsk. Lets be civilized and discuss it over a cup of tea, wot, wot. Care for a castrated young boy with your sugar, old boy?

    • “Science is a social and cultural activity through which explanations of natural phenomena are generated.”

I agree that is an obscenely wrong-headed statement, in an age when science is supposedly ascendant, but in fact is falling apart. It marks an aggressive and incompetent intrusion into hard science by sociologists, that is raptly followed by the likes of climate scientist Judith Curry (at Climate Etc.), and actively pursued on the Klimazwiebel site, and all over the internet, where people routinely reveal their underlying dogmas for all to see, rather than just pretend it is all about the science, as the mainstream media do. That quote you used is basically the central tenet of “post-normal science”, a sociology fad(?) that reveals the utter incompetence of all the academics and thus of the public “debates” they largely direct. “Post-normal science” is just a euphemism for a consensus of “informed public opinion”, as I mentioned here some months ago. Not only is there no informed public opinion on climate science, there is no informed EXPERT opinion, among climate scientists themselves; they are simply incompetent, and wrong-headedly aggressive in their pathetic hubris, their lack of self-knowledge of their limitations. That last phrase, in my view, is the epidemic disease of our time, both inside and outside of science (it fits our President, for one apt high-profile example).

Oh dear. I hope I didn’t accidentally incite hatred towards hippies: that would be, like, SO evil, don’t you know.

  5. That Watson River, Kangerlussuaq, Greenland was not formed in the time of the AGW scam. Just look at these pictures:

It also indicates that a lot of force was needed to create this over a very long time.

It’s all happening at the edges Steve, You can show the middle and of course that will melt last, especially since it is at high altitude? Why do you keep posting these non relevant images?

Having said that the BBC reported that the new iceberg that carved off from the Peterson glacier was nearly as big as the 250 mm square one in 2010.

    mm square … lol.

And they did not correct themselves

Mind you this has to be the worst year since I have been watching the Arctic decline so far

We are at the average miimum already

  7. Andy DC says:

Too much frost on the green for any golf yet, but with super duper exponential warming and massive calving going on, the course should be in perfect condition by August.

  8. johnmcguire says:

Steven , how will we know what the true amount of ice is in the artic at the ind of summer ? It is now to the point that you can not believe anything the warmists say as they have demonstrated that they will lie repeatedly . So , how will we really know what the true results are ? You can not trust people in government any longer as government is now run by liars ! As for mckibben , what a wackjob !

  9. leftinbrooklyn says:

All these ‘arctic is melting, droughts are worsening, planet is warming’ arguments just seem to reinforce the dishonesty of their assumptions, rather than reinforce their arguments. It’s as though, even if all those things were happening, they believe the proof that we could witness & measure them is proof that our CO2 is the cause of them. It’s no better of an argument than: ‘Because I said so.”

My visual instruments (eyes) can witness and measure the sun rising every morning. I guess that means I’m the reason that it rises. How empowering…

  10. Eric Webb says:

You see where Jeff Masters is now making a similar claim of record warmth on Greenland, claiming it reached 3.6 degrees celsius, and he even admits a 4.4 degree reading in may 2010 was bogus. I think anything that comes out of his mouth is bogus and full of lies and propaganda. The sad thing is now he works in close association with The Weather Channel, and now he can spread his lies even easier into the mainstream.

    • Last week we watched The Summit Camp dig themselves out of the accumulating snow. No doubt they are suffering a super-serial meltdown.

      • Eric Webb says:

Wow, and this is supposed to be the warmest part of the year, just wait until the sun drops off the horizon for winter, going to be very uninhabitable to live in temperatures at minus 40 or lower when winter comes.

  11. Ole Heinrich says:

Extreme heat? Where? §.-) We have had more rain that usual and that’s why our rives flow more than normal. In 2010 (where it was warmer) we had the opposite problem – lack of water!

  12. Eric Webb says:

In 2010, there was prominent la nina conditions, and this year, we’ve seen a flip to el nino conditions. When you cool off the pacific ocean, the upstream source of moisture for North America, it leads to drier conditions overall, because cold air simply can’t hold as much moisture, but when it flips to el nino, it generally becomes wetter. It doesn’t get wetter everywhere, and some areas will experience drought, but not to the extent that the NCDC and the mainstream media proclaim.
