But don’t despair. In a few short months, the ice will all come back.
In 1979 the ice breaker and tanker arrived around Aug 31 to refuel the station I worked at (Eureka).
About 1 week later, the fjord was froze over..so the freeze will be happening soon up there at 80 degrees…north of that, possibly sooner
