  1. Andy OZ says:

Ethan Hunt has fixed the CC camera so you can’t see the water.

  2. Dave N says:

Wow.. A mainstream news service didn’t check the facts.. Who knew?

It’s a shame these morons don’t get prosecuted (more often) for stunts like this

  3. John Silver says:

Funny thing about New York; all power transformers are underground without water protection, so they had to shut them down.

  4. NikFromNYC says:

The wind suddenly picked up 7-8PM then casually mellowed into the night, but I’m in Morningside Heights, a Manhattan “mountain” with a block of side streets that suddenly plunge down towards Riverside Drive which itself forms a cliff overlooking Riverside Park which itself contains a steep incline and another small cliff that somewhat masks the fact that a damn highway runs through it. A huge tree that my block enjoyed in the fourteen years I’ve walked under it was suddenly and very loudly mulched entirely into sawdust by union guys with huge machines, last week. When it snows here, people sport umbrellas. Being raised in Minnesota, I always laugh at that.

  5. Mike Odin says:

look at that FLOWER POT that was knocked over in
    atlantic city by sandy.

  6. Laurence Crossen says:

Steve, it seems like you missed the abc anchor stating Sandy is a hundred year storm. How can they lie about simple facts. Will it even be a thirty year storm as their “champion” weatherman says? I cannot relocate the news video I heard this morning but found this in Google:

New York City floods as Sandy slams into eastern U.S. – Yahoo! News

6 hours ago … Article: Storm Sandy about to make landfall on New Jersey coast: …. Superstorm
Sandy slams into New Jersey coast … Why would a news reporter stand in the
middle of storm to give an update about the storm? … a “100 year event” …
hurricanes that turn INLAND, instead of out to …. ABC News Network | …–finance.html

  7. John B., M.D. says:

    Dr. Masters exaggerates:
I’ll just comment about Chicago. Wind speed 22 mph, not raining. Plenty of brown leaves left on the trees.
    What’s so extreme about that?

  8. Laurence Crossen says:

It turns out that the damage to the subways probably is a hundred year high. Of course that is not what is meant in climatology by a hundred year storm.
