Hysterical Climatology

The science of historical hysterical climatology has several schools of thought

  • The Hayhoe/Dessler/Hansen school – time began in 1970
  • The Karl/Hansen school – people were too stupid in the past to read thermometers, and have become exponentially more stupid in the current decade. Particularly in 2012.
  • The NOAA school – people did not know how to count dead bodies before 1950

One more school of thought is universally accepted by all hysterical climatologists. People in the past did not value their own lives, and were too dumb to get out of the way of a storm. Losing 20,000 people in a 1780 storm is trivial compared to 50 people in a 2012 storm.

“About 560,000 babies die each year in Asia and Africa because their umbilical cords are cut with filthy instruments or the stump is packed with dirt.” – Wayne Biddle (A Field Guide to Germs, 1995)

There were appearently many major storms in the 1700s. In the mid to late 1500s a welsh town was washed away. As you say they are not rare and are more vicious when there is a lot of cold air around.

  3. I think its time to call these people a certain name. They call us climate change deniers, maybe they should be called climate history deniers. Or something that sticks.

I always wondered why the people who are benefiting the most from “fossil fuels”, the rich and famous, are ranting and raving against the very thing that enables them to live their lifestyles? Listening to them is like listening to a chain-smoker talk about the evils of smoking, while puffing away and telling everybody else to quit while he makes no attempt or even acknowledges the need to do so.

Over-population is really bad, according to them, but on the other hand, they preach about global warming causing a lot of people to die. Why would they want to stop it?

  6. Andy DC says:

In the 1300’s, storms killed tens of thousands of people in Holland. England’s worst storm was in 1703. It’s not like the weather was always wonderful, even long before the industrial revolution.
