I can’t think of any possible terrorism scenario which would require that DHS has enough high-powered rifle rounds to kill everyone in the US. If you can justify this, please leave a comment. Otherwise, get in touch with your representatives immediately, and let them know.
You can take out an Adam Lanza or James Holmes with one .308 bullet. The only possible purpose for hundreds of millions of bullets is that they plan to kill huge numbers of people.
Perhaps, not realizing that you shoot skeet with shotgun shells, they believe they are supplying Mr. Obama with ammunition for his Camp David shooting fetish?

Not as big as I thought… It would all fit in a cube 10.2m on a side (33-1/2 feet).
If you divided it up and shipped it to the 100 largest cities, each city would receive a cube about 2.2 meters on a side (2 million bullets each large city). It might be enough to produce the desired effect, at least for a few hours.

It has been my experience, over the last 40 years, that writing your representative, or even talking directly to him, doesn’t have any effect unless he already wants to do what you suggest. They love to hear from the choir; they brush off those who are “out of step” with their own public stance. In other words, if your representatives are like mine have been, they are either political party hacks, or high-flying heroes in their own minds, who can’t be bothered with the likes of you. Frankly, I expect that is why so many gun owners are so serious–they have found they get no respect from the government, whoever is in charge.

According to the Military and Defense Business Insider they ordered 1.2 billion rounds in the past year. The orders consisted of 450 million rounds of .40 caliber, then a few weeks later an additional 750 million rounds, then most recently, an order for 200 thousand hollow points (those aren’t target rounds).

The DHS says they use them for target practice and training. According to this FAQ page at DHS, they use 15 million rounds per year for firearm training in all of their facilities.

So if my math serves me correctly, they purchased enough ammo in a year to keep their firearm training facilities operational for 80+ years. I dunno, maybe they’re stocking up before the price goes up?

This does seem like an excessive number of rounds, even after you subtract the number of rounds Big Sis via Holder will hand out to the Mexican cartels. If I was a border agent I would be very concerned right now.
And Hillary is getting ready to retire. I understand she is a very savvy when it comes to investment opportunities. Might want to check her portfolio for recent investments in big ammo.
