Its not going to improve. That garbage truck has three guys – the driver and two at the back.
Our local garbage trucks have one guy, who is the driver, and a robotic pickup arm. The city council saves a lot of money since the trucks barely need to stop for each bin, so also are more productive truck vs truck.
OTOH unicorn herding I hear is an expanding industry offering many new positions.
Amusing that Obama does count them as green jobs, but more and more localities are cutting back with automation – only this time it is not ATMs that are killing jobs. Only AGAs (automated grabber arms).
