El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa, while saying he would be obliged to enforce new law, publicly said he would willfully ignore a ban on high-capacity magazines and may even sue to overturn new laws he deems unconstitutional. Now, he says a bill that would raise sheriffs’ salaries is being held up at the Capitol and he knows why.
“Senate Dems have made it known, ‘Sheriffs, obey or no pay for you,’” Maketa said. “The first word that comes to my mind is extortion.

Government gains power by controlling the purse. It is the justification for Obamacare and the medicare expansion. Bullying sheriffs is no different.
And this most certainly is extortion!
This is a tyrannical government.
I was wondering when someone would give voice to that truth: “extortion”. That is the essence of Obamacare’s individual mandate also. Official extortion, at the highest level of the land (of a piece with a leader–Obama, and Hillary too–who has continually tried to lie to the American people about the attack on Benghazi, and the Muslim jihadi menace in general).
