Peak Bloom In DC!

According to bold and definitive expert forecasts, cherry blossoms are at their peak now.

March 4, 2013

The National Park Service announced that the peak bloom (defined as when 70% of the blossoms are open), will be March 26 – March 30.

    They have apparently updated this recently as the website now says peak will be April 3-6. If they keep adjusting it they may get it right.

    Great news! Early blooming is another disaster caused by global warming, right? RIGHT?

    • Yes. Er, no. Yes, you see, the 16-year lack of global warming is a singular weather event, unrelated to climate…. yes, weather & climate are not the same. So this 16-year *ahem* I mean this spring bloom is …. uhhh…. well, global warming causes extremes such as late blooms, its like how the Texas drought is an indicator of warming and the last hundred years of slightly increasing moisture is just a singular weather ev…. …. ok, no, take the wildfires in Australia….. I mean, the floods in Australia……… no, really, global warming absolutely is man’s fault, you just have to avoid looking at the weather………. er, I m-m-m-ean look at the new extreme weather …. a-a-a-nd ….uhhh……

    NPS must use the same algorithm as Hathaway for the “solar cycle peak”

    Keep adjusting the forecast until – miraculously – it happens just as foretold. More $$, sukka!
