  1. Mike says:

    🙂

    So true.

  2. jimash1 says:

Yeah, what if our Great great great great grandkids get there and it’s 400ppm CO2 ?
    The horror.

  3. Bruce says:

I think we should send two colonizing vessels out to them before the world suffers CO2 meltdown. The IPCC climate scientists are obviously essential, so they should go. We could call the sppacecraft the A-Ark and the B-Ark. The first spacecraft will obviously be more dangerously heading into the unknown so the climate scientists should go in the B-Ark.

    • Marian says:

The B-ARK could be CO2/methane powered. There should be enough Hot air and BS from the Climate Scientists to propel it through space. 🙂

  4. kbray in california says:

One large asteroid impact will make MAJOR changes in Earth’s CO2.
That is one event that could really kill.
Forget about a few puffs of co2 from an exhaust pipe.
Plants thrive on our carbon footprint.
    Live and let live.

  5. Dave N says:

It’s a shame that NASA is so divided: the JPL and Space centers, who are extremely smart… then there’s the poorly named (since they “study” Earth, not space), and poorly educated GISS.

I expect the former are embarrassed to have the latter in the same organisation; they really should cut that group off, and let them sink into obscurity where they belong.

    • Bruce says:

NASA GSFC are actually not too bad, and are quite sceptical on climate change. Of course they have to be careful given who is paying their bills right now. But they most certainly don’t see eye to eye with NASA GISS. I wonder if now that Hansen is retiring that Gavin thinks he has a chance of promotion?

  6. ralphcramdo says:

If anyone remembers the Star Trek episode “Return To Eden” a futuristic band of hippies are looking for the new “Eden”. When they arrive at the planet they find a real “Eden” by all outward appearance. It’s discovered the plant life (even the grass) secretes a powerful acid and the fruit is poisonous.
NASA can find a planet that has oxygen and looks pretty, but they have no idea if it’s safe for humans.

  7. sunsettommy says:

Hey this is our chance to get rid of the leftist retards.Send them to the nearest habitable planet and leave the rest of us alone.

  8. mogur2013 says:

yeah, send your political enemies to the ‘nearest habitable planet’. That is the definition of a democracy. Geez, you guys don’t really like what our founders were all about. They (silly that they were) wanted every voice heard. You, on the other hand, want every voice filtered. I speak against your insanity, and you think that by onerous majority (only on this site, btw) you justify anything that you want. That is not America, that is not democracy. That is group insanity. Read Drudge. Read fat boy, be happy in your ignorance.

    • you are projecting left wing nuttiness

    • leftinbrooklyn says:

Um, kinda not on point there, mogs…they have every right to speak. They have zero right to control my carbon footprint.

    • gofer says:

Why is it that every conservative speaker on virtually any college campus shouted down and many times prevented from speaking at all? “Reading Drudge” is a little difficult, since he only aggregates links to articles on the web. Apparently you don’t like what he links to while you attempt to promote free speech and “democracy” which is mob rule and the reason we have a Republic.

    • Bruce says:

“That is not America, that is not democracy”

I’d suggest you read Hitchhikers’ but Americans of the left cannot understand Brit humour. Python is lost on Obama’s fanbase. And it’d be even worse if you ever found yourself here in Australia the arse-end of the world.

    • sunsettommy says:

They are not political enemies they are enemies of the constitution and the freedoms derived from it.That is why they deserve the hyperbolic scorn since they make it clear they want to weaken the three branch system to a dominant Executive branch.

You are another person who fails to use the proper phrase American REPUBLIC because you are another ignorant hick who fell for the broadly defined word Democracy since it favors the leftist retards.

  9. mogur2013 says:

Everyone has the right to their own opinion. And I hope that I am accorded that right.

    • zip adee says:

Per the Bill of Rights, you do have that right, mog. Don’t we also have the right to say that you are completely full of shit?

  10. Not sure I can work out what Steve’s point is but the original article is full of speculation presented as facts. So you can’t say the rest of NASA hasn’t learnt a lot from their climate change division.

    • Baa Humbug says:

“If there’s life at all on those planets, it must be very advanced” evolutionarily because the planets are so old, said Borucki

Hmmm, so no mass extinctions at that planet then.

      You’re right Will

  11. Andy Oz says:

You guys beat me to all the best punch lines. Perhaps all the people who are engineers and geologists and other open minded and pioneering people can go first. The climate scientists and their minions can stay here to fix everything. If ever us new planet pioneers need help, we’ll call you. If you need help, don’t call us as the climate scientists can fix everything. Shit, they can fix an entire planet!!! And don’t bother visiting!

  12. Robertv says:

Maybe a good place for some Emissions Trading because here on Earth the economic crisis has caused the price of emissions licenses to plummet.
