  1. John B., M.D. says:

They want a war on carbon and a war on innocent Americans (various scandals involving the Bill of Rights) but no war on terror.

  2. John B., M.D. says:

Nine degrees from the depths of the Little Ice Age?

  3. QV says:

That’s evidently 9 degrees Fahrenheit, equivalent to 5.3c Celsius, FROM PRE-INDUSTRIAL times (1861-90), of which I estimate there has already been 0.6c, leaving only a rise of 4.7c from 2000, which was forecasted by only the most extreme (and therefore unlikely), climate models in the IPCC AR4 projections.
In any case, how on earth can the “apocalyptic” results of such a rise “kick in”, in 2020, when even IF the projections are correct, most of it won’t have happened yet?

  4. scizzorbill says:

The Harold Camping forecast. When 2020 comes and goes with nothing going on, the goalposts will be moved a decade or two.

  5. mark bowlin says:

Maybe it’s worse than we thought….maybe pre-industrial, which kind of covers all but the last century and a half of humanity, starts during the Roman climate optimum or the MWP for the Washington Post writer. It could be really, really, bad.

  6. Attempting to innovate your way out of a problem reminds me of Nixon’s war on cancer.

  7. If its going to be that hot, I’m going to go buy a fan before its too late.

  8. 9 degrees isn’t enough. I need at least 20 if I’m going to be able to grow citrus in my yard. The local global warming imbeciles have promised me citrus, and I’m holding them too it!

  9. Andy Oz says:

9 degrees must be an economic forecast, not a climate forecast, as the guy talking about global temps is an economist, the same as Australia’s Ross Garnaut (Climate Consultant) is here in Australia. Maybe it’s the 9 degrees of separation between the average person and his money once the Climate Rapid Response Team and the carbon tax bozos get a hold of it. Maybe it’s the temperature of the black hole within which all that carbon tax money disappears.
In any case, the guy is a dunce and should be sent back to school.

  10. It is I only says:

In the immortal words of some ex tennis player “You can’t be serious”?

If you believe this….Email me about the bridge I have for sale…..Its Heat Resistant and I give you a deal!
