We are actually almost two thirds of the way through the melt season.

No one claimed Gavin was the brightest bulb in the chandelier. He has the proper qualifications to replace Hansen!

  2. nigelf says:

Facts were never the alarmists forte.

    • Andy Oz says:

Alarmists and donkeys have a lot in common.
Tell them a fact and you get this:

    • T.O.O. says:

Facts and evidence are precisely what define “alarmists”.

      • Irrelevant facts and modelled, unreal evidence.

      • gator69 says:

        There he goes again! 😆

T.O.O.L. I have asked you repeatedly for “evedenoce” and “facts” that disprove natural variability and not once have you replied with any such thing.

What makes an alarmist? They tend to be ‘joiners’, just like good little communists, they band together and chant. They confirm their fears through fantasy, basically role playing on an imaginary world, simulated computer doomer games. They ignore or rewrite history, just like good little leftists, who need to alter the past to try and hijack the future. Amarmists have been with us since the dawn of time and with the exception if Noah, they have ALWAYS been wrong, just like their models. 😆

Skeptics ask the hard questions that alarmists can never answer. Skeptics are what drive hard science.

Found that paper yet skippy! 😆

Gavin must be assuming that since air temperatures in the region just went above freezing that the melt just started. Ice melts mostly from the bottom up. By the time the temperature reaches 0C, the ice has already thinned considerably because the air is not cold enough to keep it frozen at great depth.

But we are going to need a whole new series of “ice free arctic” predictions now.

  4. tckev says:

Not remembering dates is one of the signs of cognitive decline.
Gavin appears to have a short way to go.

  5. Traitor In Chief says:

Actually, what Gavin means is that now begins the period during which they most often modify the extent algorithms so as to achieve the ice free arctic they so desperately desire. That’s the “melt” season. “Melted” with Math.

  6. omnologos says:

“RealClimate has some real problems […] about 95% of which stem from one person.”

  7. Jimmy Haigh. says:

What our Gav means is that this is the date which the warm-mongers start getting interested in Arctic Ice because we are approaching the minimum. Once it starts freezing again they loose all interest in Arctic ice.

They lost interest in Anrtarctic ice a few years ago – since it started increasing.

    • Andy Oz says:

I’m very concerned with Antarctic Ice extent. If it keeps growing at current rates it will reach Perth before the end of the century!!! Can you northern hemisphere guys share some of that angry CO2 so we can get the ice going the other way. It was an unprecedented 1 degree at 7 am at Jandakot this morning!!

  8. Stephen Richards says:

From what he says in his tweet tha melt is 3 months late.

  9. gator69 says:

This must be one of those “real” scientists to whom Reggie referred.

  10. squid2112 says:

RealClimate? … I didn’t know that site was still alive. Seems like a waste of electrons to me.

  11. Glacierman says:

Anyone who believes that CO2 controls Earths Temperature like a thermostat, not to mention thinks they have models that have any meaning at all in the real world is either a complete moron nutter, or is a scam artist perpetuating a lie. I think it may be possible that Gavin is both.

  12. Bloke down the pub says:

Gavin has a calendar. Anthony sent him, Michael Mann and some others a free WUWT calendar for Christmas, though MM didn’t see the funny side.

  13. PaddikJ says:

How long did your tweet survive?
