Upstanding citizen, assaulted by young hoodlum? You be the judge:

“In 2005, Zimmerman, then 20, was arrested and charged with “resisting officer with violence” and “battery of law enforcement officer,” both which are third-degree felonies. The charge was reduced to “resisting officer without violence” and then waived when he entered an alcohol education program. Contemporaneous accounts indicate he shoved an officer who was questioning a friend for alleged underage drinking at an Orange County bar.
“In August 2005, Zimmerman’s ex-fiancee, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order alleging domestic violence. Zimmerman counterfiled for a restraining order against Zuazo. The competing claims were resolved with both restraining orders being granted.”

Sounds like kind of a thug, doesn’t he?

    • leftinbrooklyn says:

Even a thug should be able to defend his life from attack by another thug.

And your post probably should have included Martin’s record.

    • RickD says:

No, he sounds like a lot of other people out there. 41% of all Americans are arrested by the time they are age 23. I wasn’t one of those, and in fact have never been arrested. I know a lot of people that have not, but it is telling in this society that so many young people are bloody stupid.

Much like Trayvon was stupid for going after George Zimmerman and attacking him.

Oh, by the way, many men are WRONGLY accused of domestic violence in case you didn’t know that. Many are rightly accused.

Truth is, George Zimmerman is STILL INNOCENT because so far, he hasn’t been proved guilty and in this country that’s the way it works Michael.

    • RAVerhoeckx says:

I believe Michael you shold apply to the TV series “Twilight Zone ” as a script writer

    • I. Lou Minotti says:

I make the motion that Michael take over for Judge Nelson. Since he’s so willing to introduce Zimmerman’s past indescretions as evidence of his flawed character, Michael would be more than happy to permit Trayvon’s being heard by the jury, as well.

    • Andy DC says:

All that proves is that Zimmerman has kept his nose clean for the last 8 years. With Zimmerman battered and bloody and no convincing evidence of deliberate malice on his part, a murder conviction will be a very tough sell.

I was involved in investigating a very similar case in DC when a punk put a security guard in a choke hold and the security guard shot and killed him. No known witnesses. Since it was black on black, it barely made a ripple on the news and the DC prosecuter did not file charges.

    • PhilJourdan says:

So we learned that all people arrested (not convicted, just arrested) are not eligible to defend themselves in a life and death situation.

      Interesting. What amendment is that?

  2. Pathway says:

Seems like irrelevant information, given the Obama’s son attacked George.

    • michael says:

We have no evidence of that. A scuffle ensued, in which the armed thug killed the unarmed thug– whereas the unarmed thug merely bent the armed thug’s nose out of shape.

The automatic bias toward Zimmerman seems kind of ugly to me. I can’t help but think if the races had been reversed in this incident, everyone would still be standing behind the white guy.

      • Well michael, i suggest you volunteer for a beat down by your local 17 year old thug, and then report back to us about how wonderful the experience was.

        • leftinbrooklyn says:

I have a friend who’s a devout anti-gun guy. Says he would rather be killed than take the life of someone attempting to take his. Addiction to being a victim has become epidemic.

        • michael says:

If Zimmerman hadn’t followed the guy the scuffle never would have started. He purposely placed himself in harm’s way by acting in an aggressive & threatening manner.

I worked those supposedly mean streets for thirty years. And never had a hand laid on me.

        • philjourdan says:

          Except by your pimps.

All we know at this point (and it is telling that no new evidence was brought forth) was that he was following him, but stopped when told to by police. From there, we have his word versus no other indication that he continued to follow him. So the 2 possibilities are:

#1 – He lied, and did continue to follow Martin.
#2 – He told the truth and stopped, and then Martin ambushed him.

Now which is true, only one living man knows. And his name is not Michael the Ho.

        • I didn’t realize he was being tried for following Martin. Thanks for clearing that up.

        • michael says:

In following Martin he precipitated the incident, Steve. That’s the central fact in the case: who it was who started it. Martin, for all your contempt for him as a human being, wasn’t doing anything to anybody. He was just walking home from the store. And he was confronted by a crazy guy with a gun walking up behind him.

In his situation, what would you have done? If the guy was too close to run away from, I think you would have grappled with him.

Which Martin did. And during the struggle, the gun went off.

        • philjourdan says:

Sorry, then we are all guilty of causing accidents and murder since at some time in our life, we are all following someone else, even if unintentionally.

But the reality is that merely following someone is NOT a crime. Nor is it an excuse to beat the crap out of a person. I can follow you up to your doorstep. But if you lay one hand on me, you are guilty of assault and battery, not me.

        • Zimmerman is old fat and slow. Martin was young thin and fast. He could have easily run away from Zimmerman, but chose to pound his head against the pavement,

Lefties believe that this behavior is acceptable for black people, for the same reason that Pavlov’s dogs drool.

      • Justa Joe says:

Libtard twerps talking about what a guy should have done while getting his head beat in on some dark street somewhere reminds of uber-p*55y Dylan Avery talking about how he would have whipped the 911 attackers asses if they only had box cutters.

Pretty much anybody in Zimmerman’s position would have done what he did under the same circumstances. If Zimmerman was some kind of aggressor like Mikey M. wants to suggest he would have brandished his piece as soon as Trayvon came at him.

      • Jason Calley says:

The white guy? There was no white guy — only two beige guys, one light beige, one darker beige.

Michael, is it possible that your hyper-sensitivity to blame racism has left you unable to consider this issue objectively?

        • Justa Joe says:

Mikey M. sees racists and fossil fuel executives hiding under every bed.

        • michael says:

Zimmerman was clearly the white guy. Apparently your neighborhood has no racial differences. Or for the purposes here, you are pretending not to be aware of the degree to which they color people’s thinking. Why do you think everyone here instinctively takes Zimmerman’s side, even though he’s the one who went out looking for trouble? It’s because they identify with him. None identifies with a kid walking home from the store.

        • philjourdan says:

So Obama is the white guy too?

          Zimmerman, 50% Semitic, 25% Latino, 25% Black.

I see no Caucasian in his DNA. But it is telling that you do not say “zimmerman” but the white guy. Racism comes in all forms.

And I am taking the side of the law. Zimmerman is a dyed in the wool, ignorant democrat. But until such time as those qualities are made illegal, I see no reason to convict him in a kangaroo court.

        • Zimmerman volunteered his time to keep the neighborhood safe from a rash of burglaries and home invasions.

To deranged lefties, this makes him a criminal.

        • michael says:

No, Steve, it doesn’t make him a criminal. It makes him one of those self-appointed mounties. Had he been a trained neighborhood watch patroller he would have called 911, asked the dispatcher to send a cop and stayed discreetly in the background acting as an eyewitness. That’s what they’re taught to do in such cases. They are told repeatedly in the course of their training, do not get involved.

Instead he acted in a provocative and aggressive manner against a person who was DOING NOTHING WRONG. No one seems to understand that part. That says to me that racism is the unspoken motive from which they are acting.

        • philjourdan says:

So lack of training is grounds to beat the crap out of someone now.

You realize all you are doing is making excuses to initiate violence. Is that how you are going to justify the riots?

yea, your mamma made you do it.

        • Zimmerman called the police, and was on the phone with them when Martin tried to kill him.

  3. Wyguy says:

God help Zimmerman, because his government will surely not help him. Local, State nor Federal.

    • RAVerhoeckx says:

Goebbels complained that Obama kept his friends up all night and explained, “it is always Obama who talks.” he repeats himself and bores his guests.

  4. Wyguy says:

And what’s with the 6 jurors, what happened to the 12. Is this a part of the budget sequester?

  5. MikeTheDenier says:

Obama gives himself control of all communication systems in America

    • RAVerhoeckx says:

Goebbels was not caught napping this time, as he had been on a earlier part of the trail. He immediately gave the press the exchanges and correspondence of the states position and was published in the morning papers – guilty as charged

  6. Curt says:

A lot of those on the left are completely oblivious to the fact that “stand your ground” laws were enacted to protect battered women, so prosecutors could not claim they should have run away from their batterers.

(Yes, I’m aware that “stand your ground” is not at issue in the Zimmerman case.)

  7. Blade says:

michael [July 11, 2013 at 7:32 pm] says:

“In 2005, Zimmerman, then 20, was arrested and charged with “resisting officer with violence” and “battery of law enforcement officer,” both which are third-degree felonies.“ …

“In August 2005, Zimmerman’s ex-fiancee, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order alleging domestic violence. Zimmerman counterfiled …

Sounds like kind of a thug, doesn’t he?

Sounds like the typical outcome when interfacing with cops while drunk. That’s not a thug. Has he mugged someone? Stole money?

The second case sounds like the typical outcome of couple separation when lawyers are involved. I wouldn’t be surprised if you “michael” have experienced either or both of these things yourself. They don’t make you a “thug”.

Cops are human and things almost always escalate quickly when the adrenaline is pumping resulting in charges like those listed above. There are very few cops like this one ( an old classic from 1992 in Maine ) …

You wouldn’t want to try this today with all the jackbooted cop incidents that occurred over the past two decades. For some reason I can easily imagine “michael” as the driver though. I guarantee you Zimmerman did NOT act like this after he got his carry license. Gun owners are very careful.
