Disappearing at an unprecedented rate, means growing at an unprecedented rate since last summer.

  1. Jorge says:

They stopped counting it in 2012. This whole thing is quickly becoming a farce.

  2. Jorge says:

They’re not even trying to tell the truth or be informative or understand anything. It’s all propaganda now. It’s all about lying and hoping too many people don’t catch on.

  3. Chewer says:

Many of these AGW waste-cases believe that if they tell the lie enough, it’ll become accepted truth!
A rather large problem is that none of them have had their asses kicked often enough….

    • Jorge says:

I agree that’s what they think. It’s the Nazi “big lie” theory in action. Problem is I think it’s actually having the opposite effect. I think it’s turning people away. I think most people would be willing to believe in the basics of global warming, but don’t believe the doomsday scenerios. Doomsday has become the new normal of the alarmists. So much so, that it’s obvious they are lying. It’s one thing to be wrong, it’s another to be a liar. People will accept someone who is wrong, but lie to them and they’ll never trust you again.

These people grossly overestimate how much people are willing to accept bullshit just because someone with a PhD is peddling it.

      • BobW in NC says:

Jorge, as you referred to, Nazi Josef Goebbles originated the “Big Lie” statement, and it consists of two parts, the first of which you noted above: ““If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

But note the second part—and this is key to understanding the White House (and UN) involvement in keeping AGW “alive and well”— “The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Got it? “Truth is the mortal enemy of the lie; truth is the greatest enemy of the state.” Any wonder why AGW is not dead and gone? Truth is the greatest enemy of the state…

  4. Perry says:

There seems to be activity from the Arctic rowers, which is unusual. Position at 7/8/2013 08:05:57
is radiating. Could it be a distress call?

    • Latitude says:

      They are walking again…….

    • stewart pid says:

They were about two days away from a serious wall of sea ice to the east according to the Canadian ice maps but maybe there is more ice around where they are now since we know these maps miss or ignore a lot of the sea ice when it isn’t in large, solid pack ice configuration.

  6. Andy Oz says:

I’m wondering whether NASA will put out a retraction to this trash now that the Arctic sea ice extent is gonna be normal in 2013. And will they pay for the rescue of the Rowing Team?

  7. gator69 says:

The Blather Channel had one of NOAA’s talking heads on yesterday giving a state of the climate, and it sounded as if Trayvon had beat his head against a sidewalk, because he could not remember what year it is.

  8. Anto says:

The comments below that article are truly staggering in their willful blindness. Honestly – to argue that total Antarctic ice mass doesn’t matter – only land ice mass – is beyond comprehension.

    Faith-based, Jonestown-style.

  9. Edward. says:

NOAA, was always an USgov advocacy department – similar to CRU and Hadley centre in the UK – on the payroll of the government.

The really funny part is – like all propaganda units – none of them are any good at what they do – 8th graders can see through this stuff.

  10. Caleb says:

Thew hardness and thickness of the ice is about to get a real test, as a 970mb low is forming right where the summer gale smashed up so much ice last year. If it doesn’t smash up this year, Mother Nature is giving us a real hint.

    See my update at:

    • Bill says:

How does the location and temperatures for this storm approaching compare to last year and the location and thickness of ice where this one will hit. I know last year’s came much earlier. Just wondering if this one will bring high temp.’s or smash thin ice or will it hit fairly thick ice with temp.’s from the storm not all that high?

      • Caleb says:

I confess my less-than-perfect knowledge, concerning the subjects you are curious about. There is more ice in place than there was at this time last year, but is it thicker? Obviously it is thicker than it was, in places where the ice simply didn’t exist last year. However where ice existed both years I cannot say, primarily because the Navy map which shows ice-thickness can’t show the micro-hair slenderness of a pressure ridge. Such ridges would be more slender than the broken capillaries on an old man’s face. However, just as a baby’s face is smoother than than an old man’s face, even though your vision is too fuzzy to see the difference, so-called “baby ice” is thinner and weaker than ice containing pressure ridges. I’ve been assuming the arctic ice is more sturdy, but this storm may be the test of my assumptions. Bring it on. I’m not too old to learn.

    • NikFromNYC says:

A Google images search for that polar storm spiral by “weather socialist” Bryan Maue includes: “In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at”

The polar storm looked Photoshopped, but I guess it’s real:

  11. NikFromNYC says:

After extended “pre-moderation” my one sentence plug of a plot of old thermometer records was also moderated out, but not before my well baited hook produced three extended public displays of “I’m melting!!!!” spasms by Gorebots. I didn’t take a screenshot since I was so shocked by being able to post again at all that I didn’t even think of it. It used to be they could drag you into technicalities before the warming lull falsified all of the computer models and John Cook of their mothership blog so terribly embarrassed himself with his bogus 97% study so they can’t even link to his other propaganda any more, unless they are masochists.

  12. Byron says:

I think its most disturbing that the sea ice is disappearing and not just melting. Where is it going?

    • Caleb says:

It isn’t disappearing. It turns into water. Then it turns back to ice. Study how the Vikings were able to sail the routes they sailed to Greenland. Ice was absent back then. Or simply look at maps of how far the “old ice” extended down the east coast of Greenland between 2000 and 2006. One year it extends way down the coast, and the next it is gone, and the following year it extends way down the coast again.

  13. RedDog says:

These people must think we are living in the 1950s. Do they really believe they can pull of a massive fraud in this day and age?
