I think the argument is that the US doesn’t want to let crackpot dictators free reign to use chemical weapons on their populations. If there is a military response, the theory is that this will make such crackpot dictators less inclined to use such weapons in the future, or for that matter, for the current crackpot dictator to use his weapons again.
I think that you didn’t actually watch the video before commenting. That wasn’t a topic of discussion.

How is it that the same people who can’t figure out what happened at the US Embassy twelve months ago, know exactly what happened in Syria starting three days before the attack?

That is exactly why I don’t think he did it. It would be the most stupid move possible, but the best move by the opposition since exactly what they want is about to happen. These people don’t have a problem killing a few hundred people IF it would bring the US in to fight the war and supply them with arms.
Middle Eastern dictators have no clue about the way the US views the world. The other point to make is that if you’re getting very desperate, you risk actions you would otherwise not risk.
Why would Assad be “getting desperate?” He’s winning.
