    Punitive. Websites are automated.

Due to the lapse in federal government funding, this website is not available.
    We sincerely regret this inconvenience.

  3. Mike D says:

What exactly did NOAA do to benefit me in the first place?

  4. Don says:

    LOL Good one Steve.

  5. TomC says:

Apparently Obama’s political machine in charge of punitively shutting down websites are doing so indiscriminately.

For example, the National Weather Service website on the link redirects the user to the shutdown page. But the more recently released web address for the very same site – works just fine. The websites on both links are the same website, but one got targeted for shutdown and the other not so; why is that?

The reason for this is because some political hack is in charge of shutting down websites and has no background knowledge of what they’re shutting down. This idiot showed us their cards by selecting one version of the website for a shutdown – because it has .noaa. in the website name – while the other remains.

Over at the climate progress website they have a picture header to their blog about the shutdown and the picture features a sign made stating “Because of the federal government SHUTDOWN all national parks are CLOSED.” Now, exactly why would the government Obama Administration choose to capitalize the word “Shutdown” if they weren’t trying to make political hay out of the situation. And doesn’t the federal government already have signs stating the national park is closed. Why have thousands of professionally-made signs specifically stating the park is closed because of the SHUTDOWN? If anything this proves this shutdown was entirely planned for by the Obama Administration, having thousands of specifically-stated signs pre-made and ready to go.

    • Gamecock says:

      Good pickup, Tom!

    • TeaPartyGeezer says:

I noticed those nice, professionally made signs, too … on the news about closing down the WWII Veterans Memorial. Those signs were up within a few hours … they had to have been ordered, printed, and distributed well beforehand. And if the shutdown hadn’t occurred? The public would never have seen them, nor known they even existed. They would have been tossed away … just more tax money wasted.

  6. pundit says:

Who wants this federal government “back on” anyway?

  7. Traitor In Chief says:

If they shut down the least critical things, America would find out they don’t need most of the Gubmint. Doh!
When Orange County lost 1B in the stock market, the Libs went ballistic. Then, they made their cuts, and you couldn’t tell anything had happened.
Here in the Emerald State when the Auto Taxes were gutted, same squealing. Same outcome…. a whole lotta nada.
So, Obungo will try to make this as painful as possible. He’ll try to cause a train wreck.

  8. Anything is possible says:

“Normal service will be resumed as soon as the data has been adjusted to verify our models”

  9. Shazaam says:

They only thing O-Bomb-Ya and cronies have accomplished with this “stunt” is to show how woefully ignorant they are. (yet again)

If the government truly shut down it’s websites due to lack of funding, the web servers would not be operating and displaying the nifty little propaganda page about the shutdown.

The fine folks at the DC law-mart have the collective IQ of a turnip.

  10. Andy DC says:

The shopping malls were crowded here in the DC area, as the suffering, impoverished Government workers treated today like any Saturday. Rush hour was a breeze! Keep it going!

One of my friends was pissed because he was deemed “essential” and had to work. His trip to Vegas had to be postponed. Poor baby!

    • gator69 says:

Hey Andy! I was on the phone with my brother (works for NASA in DC) a couple of hours ago, he was taking a break from some gardening and called to let me know he had been furloughed. Most of his coworkers were either golfing or out shopping, and by his estimation this ‘shutdown’ is good for the economy. 😆

Unlike those who lost jobs to the new Obama economy, my brother et al know they will be back to work soon, and many will receive back pay, making this a paid time away from work. The horror!

  11. craziguy369 says:

They think they’re punishing us… how DARE anybody shut down the Government…

When now people will be able to see what little they do, how trivial they are..
