“We Have To Pass The Bill So That You Can Find Out What Is In It”

Retired chemist Edward Schokowitz was incredulous when he received a letter from Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey early last month saying his Medicare Advantage Plan, which had no premium, would be eliminated next year.

“They took all the senior citizens and threw us out of the plan. They now want to give us the same plan for $153 [per month],” he told the Daily Caller. “The President said you can’t be kicked out of your plan. He lies.”

Schokowitz is one of many Medicare beneficiaries now learning that — like Americans who buy insurance on the individual market — they are losing their insurance, and in some cases their doctors, under Obamacare.

Private insurance companies that cover patients with government funds under the Medicare Advantage program have quietly started to dump doctors and patients because of Obamacare budget cuts.

Schkowitz, 75, who lives in a senior citizen complex near Atlantic City, would also pay more for prescription drugs under the new plan. The co-pay for a three-month supply of one of his medications increases next year from $7.50 to $54.00.

Thousands of New Jersey residents are suffering the same fate . Currently, 74,000 Garden State residents are enrolled in Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage. Nearly half have zero-premium plans.

If the Democratic Party was a business, they would all be locked up for fraud and racketeering.

  1. Fred from Canuckistan says:

Gotta give Obama credit for being such a gifted, natural liar. Even better than Bill Clinton and Slick Willy is no slouch when it comes to truth bending, breaking and torturing.

  2. Gamecock says:

    Whah! Whah! Whah!

Americans voted for this. Now they get to live with it. Elections have consequences.

    • Ernest Bush says:

Those who voted for this Democrat liar are the ones who are crying the loudest. I love to taunt them, especially the Seniors of which I am one. Stupid fools! People on medicare are getting screwed with much higher supplemental insurance rates.

    • gator69 says:

No, Americans did not vote for this. Over a million showed up in DC protesting this bill, that the majority of the population was against. Congress voted for this bill.

      • Gamecock says:

Congress is the ELECTED representatives of the people.

        America has spoken.

        “We have met the enemy . . . .”

        • gator69 says:

And congress failed their sworn duty, so yes, they are now the enemy.

        • Gamecock says:

Give some credit to the fine people who elected them, for Pete’s sake!

I’m not going to get worked up over horror stories. The people voted for it; it’s time for them to pay.

Don’t mess with my Schadenfreude! They need some consequences for their actions!

Sorry, didn’t mean to ruin your fun, or disrespect the departed. 😉

I am incredulous every time I hear Nancy Pelosi speak. How on God;s green earth did someone with her lack of even modest ability become minority speaker of the house?

  4. Traitor In Chief says:

There’s a lot of stories now. Even the Obungo media are running them…

    Read the comments. Hysterical

    • Traitor In Chief says:

Dumb-o-crats are so F**king stupid. You have to hit them with a Two by Four to wake them up.

      • Jason Calley says:

Even worse, they will not stay awake very long after being hit.

You remember the “Peanuts” cartoons? Remember how Charlie Brown always fell for Lucy’s promise to hold the football? American voters (sadly, many in both parties) are Charlie Brown. They never learn.

      • David A says:

Yes, and you can get them to say it. Give them this in writing, ask them to read it out loud. I am Sofa King stupid.

  5. John B., M.D. says:

He worked for a living and needs to pay his “fair share.”
When you rob Peter to pay Paul, Democrats can always count on Paul’s vote.

      bill before it passed.

      • Health insurance was widely unaffordable before Obamacare, as even I–who have ignored all such things I could never afford, through most of my life–learned by observing what my relatives were spending each month. It was entirely obvious that simply trying to widen the pyramid scheme by bringing millions more into the “system” would not, reasonably, be expected to result in significant reductions in the prices. But the mass delusion prevented everyone from dismissing this idiocy before it took root, and small voices like mine were simply ignored as not on the same plane as the “authorities” and “experts”. And that last points the way to the real problem today: The “authorities” and “experts” are all incompetent today. I know, it sounds crazy–but, as you are all learning, and as I have been saying for several years with my references to “The Insane Left” (which is not a rant, but serious, critical information), they ARE crazy (or just pathetic as authorities and experts, if you still cannot credit their mass delusion for the insanity it is). This has all been like watching an avalanche proceed “in an orderly manner” down a mountain, to people like me who knew all along what would happen. We tried, with our small voices, to warn people in the way of the thing…and I continue to counsel mass civil disobedience to a criminal, tyrannous law.

        • Jason Calley says:

          Sarcasm follows…

Harry, Harry, Harry… so sad to see a Health Care denier. Don’t you know that 97% of all health care providers support the consensus belief in the absolute goodness of Obamacare? It’s just simple high school common sense!

          End sarcasm.

My liberal acquaintances have fallen oddly silent on the benefits of Obamacare.

        • Gamecock says:

Bull hockey. Insurance is a method of paying for healthcare. Insurance being unaffordable can only mean that healthcare is unaffordable. I.e, insurance is NOT the problem.

  7. R. de Haan says:

Thanks to Obama 52 million people loose their health insurance and all he can day is sorry?
    I want his resignation….

  8. Ben says:

Read my lips, Bush Sr lied…
Now you listen to me, because I am only going to say this once, Clinton lied…
    Obama lied, period!

Explain to me again why we are so surprised that so many are so gullible.

  9. Douglas Hoyt says:

If Obamacare had been the law back in the 1960s to now, then I calculate that I would have paid about $200,000 in premiums and got back about $2000 from the insurance company. There must be other healthy people in the same boat.

I highly recommend you watch this video to begin to understand “The True Cost of Healthcare”
