Understanding The Global Warming Pause

Some of the leading explanations for the global warming pause from the team.

  • We can’t account for the missing heat, and it is a travesty that we can’t.
  • The heat all sank to the bottom of the ocean.
  • The oceans are accumulating 400,000 atom bombs worth of heat per day.
  • The pause is thanks to the Montreal Protocol in 1987, which reduced CFC’s – but warming will return soon.
  • There is no pause, the rate of warming has doubled

These world class morons simply can’t deal with the fact that there is no global warming, and that their models have failed miserably. So they just spew mindless contradictory nonsense out of every dark orifice they can locate.

can’t deal with the fact that there is no global warming
In much the same way that Christians would have trouble denying the existence of Christ.

    • gator69 says:

“The Christ myth theory, which questions the existence of Jesus, appeared in the 18th century. Some of its supporters contend that Jesus is a myth invented by early Christians.[216][217][218] Supporters of the theory point to the lack of any known written references to Jesus during his lifetime and to the relative scarcity of non-Christian references to him in the 1st century, which they use to challenge the veracity of the existing accounts of him.[219] Beginning in the 20th century, scholars such as G. A. Wells, Robert M. Price and Thomas Brodie have presented various arguments to support the Christ myth theory.[220][221][222] However, today virtually all scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed and regard events such as his baptism and his crucifixion as historical.[7][223][224] Robert E. Van Voorst and (separately) Michael Grant state that biblical scholars and classical historians now regard theories of the non-existence of Jesus as effectively refuted.[16][17]”

      Poor choice of comparison.

      • pat says:

There are approximately 208 non-biblical references to Jesus of the Jews. That is a lot for that time. A lot.

      • Ivan says:

        Poor choice of comparison.
        I don’t think so.
I said “Christians” – not “early Christians.”

        • gator69 says:

Do you deny the existence of dinosaurs?

        • Ivan says:

What I believe is not at issue.
The point I was making is that asking an AGW adherent to accept that there has been no warming is like asking a devout Christian to accept that there never was a Christ. In both cases you are asking someone to renounce the underpinnings of their whole belief system.
And for the record – yes – I do believe in dinosaurs. They were on The Flintstones, so they must have existed.

        • gator69 says:

Still a poor choice. A better comparison would have been faith in God, of whom we have no physical record. Christ is a verifiable historical figure, if you are going to pick on a majority of your neighbors, please do a better job. Warmist scientists are a minority for a reason. Just picking nits my friend 😉

        • Ivan says:

And therein lies the problem. Temperature records are a physical artefact. Jesus, on balance, was also a physical artefact. God is wholly and solely a logical construct. Why anyone would want to compare the physical with the logical (or notional) and expect to convince anyone – much less win an argument – beats the hell out of me.

  2. Andy Oz says:

“Dr” Tom Beer had a bit too much of his namesake when he put this presentation together. What a crock! This was supposedly the premier greenhouse symposium in Australia and you can drive trucks through their “science”. I’m embarrassed that they are Australians.
    Flaws that I can see:
Slide 6 says low emissions cause higher delta T than high emissions. WTF?
Slide 9 says fewer cyclones, genesis closer to polar region. Total crap, all evidence is for same cyclone frequency, strength and same location.
The rest is as good as tarot card predictions. I’m giving it an F.

    • Phil Jones says:

It’s not Delts T but low T which Beers suffers from… Plus when you never leave the office it’s tough to make good Climate predictions… Video games vs real life…

  3. Andy Oz says:

The Australian BOM is part of the hockey team now. They have been predicting drought and heat for the Eastern States since the Election and they get this. Morons.

  4. Andy Oz says:

Japan using Fukushima as excuse to dump climate change agenda.
I’m guessing they don’t want to freeze this winter.

“So they just spew mindless contradictory nonsense out of every dark orifice they can locate.”
And the mindless contradictory jabberings of these idiot persuade politicians morons to waste million of our hard earned tax dollars every day.
It should be a crime – a crime of mass wealth destruction.

  6. Alan says:

The Global Warming Mob won’t admit that their problem is SEVEN BILLION human beings–not pollution per se, but the scale and scope of seven billion humans exhaling greenhouse gases. They cannot admit that the removal of seven billion humans is the solution to their issue–because the world still remembers genocidal regimes. That’s the elephant in the room, the Big Lie–“scientifically speaking” the issue is human over-population. What secret solution does the Global Warming Mob offer?

  7. Larry Fields says:

In light of Alan’s and Ivan’s comments, I feel the need to indulge in some shameless self-promotion. Here’s a link to a long, boring article on the subject that I wrote and posted at an online writters’ community.

Since then, I’ve changed the title to
Larry’s Take on the Population Disinformation Bomb.

Here’s the main point: Given certain caveats, which I spell out in the article, human populations are self-correcting in the long term. And Malthusian hells need not be a part of that process. In some developed countries, like Japan, population is actually DECREASING. It’s part of the Demographic Transition. The DT should be a part of Scientific Literacy 101.

Nobody who respects fundamental human rights, and who has more than half a brain, wants to clone all or part of the draconian Chinese model.

I cordially invite all environmental extremists, who disagree with me on this basic point, to put their Kool-Aid where their mouth is. What, no takers? I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked!

  8. RAH says:

“These world class morons simply can’t deal with the fact that there is no global warming, and that their models have failed miserably. So they just spew mindless contradictory nonsense out of every dark orifice they can locate.”

    But we’re the “denialists”?
