Government Passing New Laws To Make You Safe

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for me to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed or enforced nor objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt.”

Yep, we need more laws. They stop me from doing things wrong – like taking responsibility for my own actions.

  2. Hugh K says:

The Sanhedrin of ‘Old Israel’ figured out this tactic of government crowd control when they initiated the man-made 613 commandments (precepts). How safe did that make them?
Those that don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it…

  3. squid2112 says:

As it is today, it is virtually impossible for an American citizen (law abiding or otherwise) to perform his/her daily routine without violating at least 4 misdemeanors and 1 felony.

Just a reminder, as of Jan 1st it will become illegal to manufacture or import into any incandescent light bulbs in the USA. (Rugged duty light bulbs are the lone exception)
    Time to stock up.

Let’s see….a 1st American Civil War was needed to guarantee the rights of one group of us. The 2nd will be needed to guarantee the rights of all of us. Progressivism, well done.

  6. Traitor In Chief says:

Two Democrat hunters named Barry and Harry were trying to convince the public they believed in the right to own firearms, so they would publicize a hunting trip each year. They hired a pilot to fly them into the Canadian wilderness, where they managed to bag two big Bull Moose. As they were loading the plane to return, the pilot said the plane could take only the hunters, their gear and one Moose.

The hunters objected strongly saying, “Last year we shot two, and the pilot let us take them both…and he had exactly the same airplane as yours.”

Reluctantly the pilot, not wanting to be outdone by another bush pilot, gave in and everything was loaded.
However, even under full power, the little plane couldn’t handle the load and when climbing out went down, crashing in the wooded wilderness.

Somehow, surrounded by the moose, clothing and sleeping bags, Barry and Harry survived the crash.
After climbing out of the wreckage, Harry asked Barry, “Any idea where we are?”
Barry replied, “I think we’re about a quarter mile from where we crashed last year.”
