In 1981, Hansen (red below) closely matched 1975 National Academy of Sciences (blue.) They both showed 0.5 C Northern Hemisphere land surface cooling after 1940.
Both GISS and CRU now show about half that much cooling. What happened to the data that NAS and Hansen used?

CRU is not the only ones The Goat Ate the Data!
The CRU lost the original data when they moved into their current building (1988, I think it was), decided they didn’t have enough space to store it, and dumped the lot.
It has presumably been rotting away somewhere in a Norfolk landfill ever since.
A disgrace to science, IMO.
They could have stored it in my garage had they troubled to ask!

I’ll believe global warming is a crisis when I see Gore and Hansen buy a duplex in Spitsbergen.

You have to remember that alarmist generated charts are nothing but manufactured propaganda tools. I believe Steve has made that more than abundantly clear.
