Obama As The Great Leveler

Before he was elected, Obama said that Republicans were bitter people who cling to guns and religion. But after five years he has succeeded in leveling the playing field, and now sees everyone as bitter.

President Barack Obama warned yesterday at a private home in Miami that Democrats “get clobbered” in midterm elections.  “The problem is not that the American people disagree with us on the issues.  The challenge is, is that our politics in Washington have become so toxic that people just lose faith and finally they just say, you know what, I’m not interested, I’m not going to bother, I’m not going to vote,” Obama told donors.

A great observation. I see some of it happening here in the “People’s Republic”.

  2. omanuel says:

Delusion: “The problem is not that the American people disagree with us.”

Look, over there, a banana tree on the lawn of that big white house.

  4. Shazaam says:

And look over there!! A Democratic party sponsored voter registration drive……. Coming soon to a cemetery near you!!!

    • Jason Calley says:

During the last election, some local wag was putting big “I VOTED!” stickers on the tombstones.

    Well Ain’t That the truth!

Sure sounds like a real vote of NO CONFIDENCE – So throw all the blood sucking parasites OUT.

    • Jason Calley says:

Hmmmm… Four possible answers and 1% say “excellent.”

I would deduce that 4% of the respondents were just picking answers at random.

    • Shazaam says:

Leaves the issue of “Consent of the Governed” in an interesting state doesn’t it?

    • Brian H says:

By the time you get to the elections, it’s too late for that. You have to displace them in the primaries.

  6. Tony B says:

Huh??? Did Obama say something? I gave up listening to him within 2 years of him winning the first election. Just looking to vote for someone who has a little integrity to back up what he/she says from the podium; whether that be a moderate Republican or a moderate Democrat.

    • Tony B says:

Obama’s entire policy discussion at present revolves around desperate handouts to his Democrat base and likely Democrat supporters. The survey figures that the Democrats are seeing must be mind blowing to cause the desperation exhibited by Obama and his party in tossing out carrots for potential Dem voters.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

Yes, moderation. Moderate raise in spending money we borrow, moderate cronyism, moderate graft, moderate erosion of civil rights, moderate increase in illegal immigration, moderate violations of the constitution, moderate expansion of government. Moderation, I say.

“….”we need” Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. “We need Nancy Pelosi as speaker because folks like Nana over there, cleaning houses, may need her help and she’s going to look out for her. We need Harry Reid staying as Democratic Leader in the Senate because there are kids just like Elijah but who aren’t as lucky to have parents with the resources that Alonzo and Tracy have.”….”

ROTFLMAO! Nana can’t clean houses because US regs did away with that business years ago! (New tax laws and insurance killed the business for a friend of mine way back in the 1980s)

That’s the same Good Old Nancy “we have to pass the bill to see whats in it” Pelosi whose Brother-in-law got mega-bucks of US tax money. (Pelosi is on the Appropriations Committee that is responsible for setting specific expenditures of money by the government of the United States.)

Nancy Pelosi’s brother-in-law is given $737m of taxpayers’ money to build giant solar power plant in middle of the desert
    * Obama administration approved $1bn in green energy loans days after failed Solyndra project due to be completed
    * $737m handed to Crescent Dunes project in Tonopah, Nevada, for 110-megawatt desert solar power plant
    * Investors include firm Minority leader’s brother-in-law and major Solyndra stakeholder

The SolarReserve project is backed by an energy investment fund where the Minority Leader’s brother-in-law Ronald Pelosi is second in command.

PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund (East) LLC is listed as one of the investors in the project that has been given the staggering loan, which even dwarfs that given to failed company Solyndra.

Other investors include one of the major investors in Solyndra, which is run by one of the directors of Solyndra

Steve Mitchell, who served on the board of directors at the bankrupt energy company, is also managing director of Argonaut Private Equity, which has invested in the latest project….

The administration’s flagship project Solyndra is bankrupt and being investigated by the FBI, the promised jobs never materialised, and now the Department of Energy is preparing to rush out nearly $5 billion in loans in the final 48 hours before stimulus funds expire — that’s nearly $105 million every hour that must be finalised until the deadline,’

    Fried bird anyone?

And it is not just birds. Pilots in Nevada and California are complaining about being blinded by the solar farms. An air traffic controller filed a report after receiving “complaints from pilots,” and added he took a plane ride as a passenger to experience the distraction and agreed with the complaints. (And the eco-nut complain about a simple pipeline??)

Back to the birds and other wild life.

…”There’s a serious lack of data on how these large projects, and their associated solar flux, will affect wildlife,” Ileene Anderson, CBD’s Public Lands Desert Director, told ReWire. “We think the prudent course would be to step back, study the effects that Ivanpah and Crescent Dunes have on avian species, and then proceed cautiously from there once we have more data.”…

Environmentalists and wildlife managers are concerned about the possibility that projects which concentrate the sun’s rays into a relatively small area pose a risk to wildlife, in much the same manner as a magnifying glass on a sunny day poses a risk to an ant. Solar developer BrightSource Energy, which owns the Ivanpah project as well as the proposed Hidden Hills and Rio Mesa projects, holds that its design reduces the solar flux threat to wildlife:…

Distressingly, the CBD letter says that the facilities’ high levels of reflected light may cause significant damage to birds’ vision, noting that discussion at the workshop had suggested that blinding light from the white-hot power towers could cause damage to birds’ retinas, that this damage could become greater with repeated exposure, and that eagles and other sharp-eyed raptors might be more vulnerable to such injury than other birds.

As ReWire reported on August 30, the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) made a public comment on the matter as well, in the form of a letter from FWS’s Palm Springs Division Chief Pete Sorenson. That letter read, in part,

We are concerned about the increasing number of power tower projects that are proposed or undergoing permitting review, given the outstanding questions about the impacts of utility-scale application of this technology. As such, it would be beneficial to the permitting process for pending and future projects, including Hidden Hills and Rio Mesa, to gather monitoring data

  8. Gail Combs says:

    Darn, three links again

Steve please fish my comment out of the air before it gets fried by a solar panel.

    Thanks

Obama has succeeded at something. Since he as been elected he has singlehandedly kept the US from being hit by a major hurricane in spite of “climate change”.

James Taranto of “Best of the Web” in the Wall Street Journal
    March 21, 2014 explains:
““Do Democrats really “get clobbered,” as a rule, in midterm elections? They did in 2010 for sure. But in the previous midterm, in 2006, it was Republicans who got clobbered, losing their majorities in both House and Senate. In 2002 and 1998 neither party really got clobbered; Republicans and Democrats, respectively, made gains in those years, but only modest ones. True, Democrats got clobbered in 1994. All told, Democrats have been clobbered in only two of the past five midterm elections.””

  11. Brian H says:

Obama’s trying to dodge personal responsibility for what’s about to happen.
