From The “You Can’t Make Up Stupid Like This Department”

Antarctica just set their all-time record for June 27 sea ice, and the highest anomaly ever recorded.  The Independent responds with this :

Over half of emperor penguins will be ‘wiped out by end of the century’ due to melting sea ice – Climate Change – Environment – The Independent

  1. QV says:

“If sea ice declines at rates projected by the climate models and continues to influence Emperor penguins as it did in the second half of the 20th century in Terre Adelie, none of the colonies, even the southern-most locations in the Ross Sea, will provide a viable refuge by the end of the 21st Century,” warned lead author Dr Stephanie Jenouvrier.”
If the models say it, it must be true!
After all the models have NEVER been wrong so far, have they?

  2. What could possibly go wrong? says:

Why stupid? The end of the century is too far away to be held accountable for the bullshit and at the same time the readers of the Independent are granted that cozy feeling or reinforced belief that “man” in general (minus them, their family and some other people deemed worthy) is evil and the end of the world is nigh which serves to keep them as readers.

Win-Win for them. So it’s not stupid but just a normal, blatant, unethical lie.

  3. cg says:

I am sick of the global warming lies. GeoEngineering is just as evil.

  4. Cheshirered says:

The Indy is so insanely barn-pot green in some ways it’s actually worse than the Guardian, which is saying something.
Go on their website (if you dare) and you’ll see there’s climate articles that are months old. Every single one is straight out of climate propaganda central. Claiming the penguins are gonna get it just as record sea ice is reported is entirely in keeping.
    It’s not a serious newspaper, it’s a comic.

  5. Bruce of Newcastle says:

I told them and told them. The Green’s new idea of saving the polar bear by moving a population to Antarctica would not be helpful.

  6. Chip Bennett says:

By the end of the century (i.e. 85 years from now)?

I guess we’ve evolved beyond the days of Al Gore’s 5-15-year predictions, huh?

  7. ntesdorf says:

It must require years of training for the present generation of MSN reporters to make up the ludicrous misrepresentations that get published, with a straight face, and without bursting out into hysterical laughter.
Like the Climate bureaucracies, they are feeding their Leftist political Masters with the propaganda that they are paid them for. . I wonder if all this ice about is giving them the sense of a chill wind about to blow on their circus.

  8. There is a greater chance of the penguins being killed by the excessive ice than climate models predictions!

  9. Truthseeker says:

Penguiins do not need ice. There is a large and healthy population of penguins that live in Australia – the hottest, driest, flattest continent on the planet.

    • V. Uil says:

And South Africa. There are colonies on many islands off the Southern African coast.

Now these are certainly not Kings and Emperors, but I am sure those species could do with a little extra warmth though it is unlikely to materialize.

I remember seeing a documentary on South Georgia where the scientists interviewed said ominously that climate change was causing the King penguin numbers to increase.

it is called playiong both sides.

  10. James Anderson says:

Yep they are right. They will freeze to death.

  11. Cheshirered says:

Thought it was too good to last – The Guardian has now reverted to alarmist type, with help from the ever-reliable hysterical Queen Suzanne Goldenberg.
