Different Ways Of Looking At The World

Salon thinks the US is falling apart.

ScreenHunter_819 Jul. 04 19.26

As for me, I am going to take a beautiful bike ride through the forest to the gym. Then I am going to ride the other direction to see the fireworks by the lake. Then I am going to see D’Souza’s “America.”

I spent the afternoon enjoying two great soccer matches. Other than my Begonia tipping over, the world is perfect. People need to permanently turn off their television, and permanently tune out neurotic progressives who want everyone else to be as miserable as they are.

It’s just the Liberals that are falling apart. Let them go….we haven’t lost much! LOL!

  2. Dan W. says:

Well said Tony. It is a beautiful Independence day in the Old Line State

  3. Scott Scarborough says:

I haven’t seen a broadcast TV program in 6 years… Ever since I realized it is all lies. It is a nice reminder of what I am not missing when I see all the idiot boxes going when I am at the gym.

  4. Aphan says:

Last night, almost 400 people from our neighborhood gathered in our front yard, shared food dishes, ate popsicles and watermelon, passed out glowing red, white and blue bracelets and pooled all their family fireworks into a 45 minute display of color and sound. When it was over, at least 2 dozen of them remained to help clean up. We’ve done a 3rd of July party every year for almost 10 years now, and this was our biggest one so far. We love it. They look forward to it. And it brings us all together. No colors. No races. No creeds. Just Americans. Salon is very wrong.

Gorgeous here in central Indiana. Got my 5′ x 8′ US flag flying and a 3′ x 5′ Don’t Tread On Me under it on my 30′ flag pole though there is not much breeze tonight. Have a good fire going in my fire pit. And a considerable amount of fireworks in the garage awaiting dark to bring them out.

    God Bless America.

  6. Gamecock says:

Storm came thru last night; today felt like September. Out riding my Schwinn this AM thru a nearby suburb, the streets were full of walking people. Lots of red, white and blue. Some a little off, like two women with red, white and blue wiener balloons in their hair. I asked, “Y’all having a parade?” Yep! What a great idea! I wish my neighborhood did. Then I saw a fire truck coming down the street. Blowing its horn at everyone. Fantastic!

My son came down from Charlotte this afternoon, and we spent a few hours on a project to make a game board. Two trips to Lowes, some plywood, and three rattle cans of paint, did a great job.

Watched a little of Billy Hurley III at Greenbrier. Watching the Braves on TV this evening.

This is “tragic public derangement?” I see public joy.

  7. Justa Joe says:

“capitalism run amok” …more like government run amok.
Why don’t these neurotic “progressives” off themselves, and do everybody including their mother Gaia a favor.

  8. markstoval says:

To bad todays “liberals” are fake liberals who don’t know what the hell capitalism is. I try to always call the bastards “progressives”.

Classical liberalism was something entirely different. It built the western world. For a good read try historian Ralf Raico.

    Worth your time, I promise.

    • jdseanjd says:

      Enjoyable, thanks Mark.
For an understanding of where we are now, you could do worse than google “May 1st, 1776”. The Banksters hated the Americans breaking away from monarchical control from the get go. The ultimate Conservatives v Liberal rebels is over simplistic, but it’s one way of looking at the American Revolution.
If you google “Bill Still The Money Masters”, that’s a 3.5 hr history of banking, & a real riveting eye opener. It shows clearly who’s in control of Western Societies, & it’s not the poxy, pointless politician puppets.

      • Gamecock says:

        Bankster is hipster for Jew.

        • jdseanjd says:

          In your mind, maybe.
To my mind, it means ‘Criminal banker’
          & I don’t suppose for a nanosecond
          that they’re all Jews.

Why not contribute something positive to the thread,
& keep your insults to yourself?

        • Gamecock says:

You are preaching the Old Time Nazi Religion.

        • _Jim says:

          jdseanjd is back?

GREAT …. there goes the neighborhood … burned any good books lately?

  9. Chewer says:

They are shocked that the American public hasn’t fallen apart as they’ve planned, but that doesn’t keep them from trying their hardest to snuff out our capitalist and mostly sane society.

  10. Beale says:

I suppose what Jim Sleeper means is that his kind of people are violent and filled with rage, which is nothing new.

  11. NikFromNYC says:

    God is Love.

  12. omanuel says:

Regretfully, I agree with Jim Sleeper’s assessment of public anger because:

    1. Climategate exposed government financed deception about AGW.

    2. AGW skeptics won the debate, but AGW believers retained the political power.

This divide may not be healed unless skeptics acknowledge that world leaders had legitimate reason to fear Earth might be destroyed in Aug 1945 unless they took totalitarian control of society.

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10640850/CHAOS_and_FEAR_August_1945.pdf

It is in the best interest of everyone to assure world leaders they will not be punished for past deceit if they will now make full disclosure of the events in late August 1945 that convinced them to take totalitarian control of society.

Then skeptics and believers can work together to use the “force beyond the dreams of scientific fiction” that Aston reported in 1922 to benefit society rather than to kill enemies – as we were doing in August 1945.

    • omanuel says:

To snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, skeptics will acknowledge that their opponents’ intentions were noble when they agreed, sixty-nine years ago, to deceive the public in order to help world leaders save the world from nuclear annihilation.

  13. Mark Luhman says:

Funny how the power in Washington grows and the middle class shrinks.

  14. PJ London says:

(Insert : Poor, Homeless, or Sick for “American Slave”)

Frederick Douglass, when he described the America he lived in just before the Civil War:

“What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelly to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciations of tyrants, brass fronted impudence; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade, and solemnity, are, to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy—a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices, more shocking and bloody, than are the people of these United States, at this very hour.

Go where you may, search where you will, roam through all the monarchies and despotisms of the old world, travel through South America, search out every abuse, and when you have found the last, lay your facts by the side of the everyday practices of this nation, and you will say with me, that, for revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy, America reigns without a rival.”

“I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence.”
    Frederick Douglass

    • gator69 says:

Then in later years, Douglas had this to say…

““Let me tell you something. Do you know that you have been deceived and cheated? You have been told that this government was intended from the beginning for white men, and for white men exclusively; that the men who formed the Union and framed the Constitution designed the permanent exclusion of the colored people from the benefits of those institutions. Davis, Taney and Yancey, traitors at the south, have propagated this statement, while their copperhead echoes at the north have repeated the same. There never was a bolder or more wicked perversion of the truth of history. So far from this purpose was the mind and heart of your fathers, that they desired and expected the abolition of slavery. They framed the Constitution plainly with a view to the speedy downfall of slavery. They carefully excluded from the Constitution any and every word which could lead to the belief that they meant it for persons of only one complexion.

The Constitution, in its language and in its spirit, welcomes the black man to all the rights which it was intended to guarantee to any class of the American people. Its preamble tells us for whom and for what it was made.”
      -Frederick Douglass (June 1863)

      http://teachingamericanhistory.org/l…p?document=777

“Modern liberals and neocons use slavery to bash the Constitution and the Founding Fathers.

Let Frederick Douglass retort them in his own words. Douglass has great authority on the subject. He was a brilliant man, born a slave in 1818, but taught himself to read when he was 6 years old (without the benefit of the public schools). He was a man who valued liberty, and escaped from slavery when he was 20, in 1838.

Then he worked for the liberty of others, and at the same time, educated himself. He read the Founding documents of our nation, and commentaries on them, like the Federalist Papers. After 1840, he was able to get his hands on Madison’s Notes on the Federal Constitution. Hence his great statement of liberty, above, from 1863.”

Yes, even then, leftists told lies about our Constitution and our founders. They even briefly convinced Douglas, until he educated himself.

  15. In Red Feather Lakes for the weekend. Crowds of friendly, relaxed and happy people are milling around the village and the concessions stands, browsing and and buying used books at 5 bucks a plastic bag at the library sale. Waiting for the traditional off-July 4th fireworks over Lake Hiawatha. About 50/50 trucks to cars.

The violent Salon progressives either did not make it or came disguised as hunters, campers, old hippies, musicians, unruly kids, moms in red-white-blue and odious book worms. No rage-filled violence erupted so far but I’m keeping an eye on the red-haired kid who wanted to buy something at the stand and mom said no.
