A few weeks ago, a deranged young Hollywood progressive stabbed several people to death, killed a few more with his car, then killed a few more with a handgun. Progressives immediately blamed the behavior of their spawn on his gun.
Here in Maryland, people don’t consider themselves responsible enough to own guns. So they get large aggressive dogs instead – which they typically can’t handle. I have had numerous encounters with out of control dogs over the last two months, including last night when my dogs were attacked by two large dogs which the owners were too irresponsible to control.
Unfortunately, my Colorado concealed carry permit is not honored in 70% Democratic Maryland – in direct violation of the US Constitution.
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed
We need to elect responsible people to government, and attempt to restore America to sanity. Progressives don’t have the mental facilities to manage their own lives, much less those of other people.
Thought about bear spray?
goes to show that democrats are not responsible enough to own guns or vote.
.. OR own dogs …
small cats might be ok .
No. Progressives can’t handle Saturday Night Special cats.
Budgies are about their speed…
Maybe we need a congressionally-enacted presidentially-signed ‘dog control act’ passed …

That Sucks tony, Hope your dogs are ok,
One of the reasons I try not to spend a lot of time in Maryland is their attitude about firearms. You could have moved to Virginia because we think we are capable of owning firearms. However, our new guv is dedicated to making us just like Maryland.
I don’t think he killed anyone with his car, although he tried, but this “shooting rampage” began with slitting the throats of 3 sleeping victims.
Contact the NRA – other similar laws have been fought and won in court.
A can of wasp spray might be useful. It will shoot a stream three or four meters at the S.O.B.s.
(Note that “SOB” is a descriptive term, not a curse.)
That would probably get him sued, if not charged with a felony and jailed.
This is real curiosity, not snarky, but.. really? For defending oneself against attacking dogs?!
If descriptive, what do you have against their mother other than their lack of access to birth control?
Doesn’t matter what the law says–even after passage of the voters’ rights act some American citizens were denied voting rights due to skin color–and when they showed up to register, sometimes they’d wind up in jail and sometimes they’d just be beaten up.
Guess which “progressive” political party continued this in an effort to maintain political power?
It’s the same with gun laws. That political party sees merit in keeping America disarmed–it keeps that party in power.
I guess it must be time to check my gender and species privilege. 🙂
Drudge headline ATTM:
DEAD CHILDREN WASH UP ON BANKS OF RIO GRANDE
Has Barack got a ‘Tee’ time set up for this afternoon yet?
Until we have federal CCW reciprocity, there are several states I won’t willingly visit. The People’s Republic of Maryland is one of them.
It is easy to get the Hollywood crazies in Isla Vista, CA, confused. On February 23, 2001, David Attias, son of TV director Daniel Attias, killed four people and injured one by intentionally running them down with his Saab.
The US government abrogated its Constitution during the Progressive era, a century ago. Don’t expect to have “rights” today unless you are gay or black. And you are right abou the dogs, few people today understand how to train and control a dog.
Some know how to season it.
It’s not just the 2nd Amendment they are violating. Article IV, Section 1, requires
“Full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state.”
If you have a concealed carry permit from Colorado, and Maryland issues such permits, Maryland must recognize Colorado’s. I presume they don’t.
Chip Bennett says we should have federal CCW reciprocity, but I disagree. Legislation at the Federal level should be UNNECESSARY (it’s already covered by Article IV), and it would be subject to invented requirements. I don’t want Nancy Pelosi telling me what hoops I have to jump through to do what should be legal anyway.
It sounds like you’re conflating federal concealed carry with federal reciprocity of state-issued CCW. The latter merely means that States that issue their residents CCW permits must honor the CCW permits of non-residents issued by their state of residence. Also, Eugene Volokh disagrees with your applicability of the Full Faith and Credit clause to state-issued CCW permits.
States recognize each others’ driver’s licenses through interstate agreements (Driver’s License Compact, Non-Resident Violator Compact, Driver’s License Agreement), which is also how states currently recognize each others’ CCW permits (reciprocity agreements).
I really can’t understand why any second-amendment advocate would argue against federal CCW reciprocity.
Practially, yeah, it’s probably a ‘good idea’. But, philosophically, it is just another layer of bureaucratic crap that shouldn’t be needed.
From my perspective, it would eliminate a whole bunch of layers of bureaucracy, without adding any new burdens to law-abiding citizens. (You have a state-issued CCW permit? Congratulations! You can carry in every state in the country.)
We would still be responsible for knowing the varying gun laws in each state (where you can/cannot carry, etc.), but that’s true in the current situation as well.
“I really can’t understand why any second-amendment advocate would argue against federal CCW reciprocity.”
I love the “no true Scotsman” fallacy. That’s funny!
I didn’t say that no second-amendment advocate could argue against federal CCW reciprocity; rather, I said that I don’t understand why any would. If there’s a valid argument against federal CCW reciprocity, I welcome it.
A concealed carry PERMIT is an open and notorious violation of the 2nd Amendment. The state is claiming the authority to decide who may bear arms and who may not. By law it declares you have no “right” to bear arms, only their permission granted by their license.
Not exactly. True in my state, but in NC they allow open carry. Just because you can’t carry concealed does not mean you can’t bear arms in states that allow open carry.
Alabama is the same way. Open carry is a right. Concealed is a privilege. If a business owner wants to exclude people carrying, that is their business. If that costs them money, so be it; but don’t lie and say that you’re not allowing guns on your property means that your property is a safe or family friendly or welcoming. It isn’t. You’re advertising to any bold criminal to come and make his 15 minutes of fame slaughtering innocents that you wouldn’t allow them to have very effective means of stopping the slaughter in a timely fashion.
Tell us cdquarles, what part of the US Constitution does it say “The right to own and OPEN bear arms shall not be infringed but carrying arms otherwise is a PRIVILEGE that the government may regulate, license, or deny.” Where does it say that? In my Constitution I only find where it says, “The right to own and bear arms SHALL NOT BE ABRIDGED.”
A ban on bombs worked so really swell at the Boston Marathon–and they had illegal guns, too!
I would think there are leash laws, but they are seldom enforced.
Few muzzle laws.
Besides, muzzling dogs is regarded as cruel and inhumane…
Another thing to consider is reciprocity, built into the Constitution. Maryland is constitutionally bound to accept your permit.
But, they do not.
As a 40 year resident of WV (NJ transplant), I’d say that you need to move here to the Eastern Panhandle. Theorizing about constitutional law isn’t going to help your situation, Tony You can listen to all of the city folk laugh at the WV residents being 400 pounds, going to Walmart, having no teeth and interbreeding with family members. But the real estate’s cheaper, taxes are lower, the schools are what you make of them as they are any where. Crime is a a fraction of what it is in the People’s Republics of Maryland and Washington, DC because illegal entry into a place that isn’t yours will get you an up close look at the business end of a firearm of sufficient caliber to scare the beegeebees out of most dirt bags. And no state politician would ever dare to enact any semblance of gun control. The Second Amendment is sacrosanct here. Your permit is probably good here too. So let them laugh. You laugh all the way to the bank. Your dogs survive and so will you and your family. And we have internet too. 🙂
It’s the people, alright. The people who would blame the law-abiding and sane for the actions of criminals and psychopaths. Perhaps they’ll eventually see the ignorance of this, and become better people.
This joke puts the libs mindset into perspective:
Two liberals are walking down the road, when they come upon a man in the ditch. He has been badly beaten, and left for dead. He is moaning, groaning.
One liberal turns to the other and says, “Quick, we have to find the people who did this! They need help.”
probably not a joke….
Ouch! Too true…
The Magnificent Seven
[Chris and the villagers are in the bar]
Sotero: “There’s one – look at the scars on his face!”
Hilario: “The man for us is the one who gave him that face.”
Chris: “Hey. You learn fast.”
What if … that was the last ‘mistake’ (or act, whatever) he made (the one who *gave* the scratch that is)?
Sorry for the ‘sand in the gearbox’.
Then he wouldn’t need the two liberals’ help.
always been prejudiced against stupid people
