Berkeley Mirth

Fake skeptic Richard Muller convinced the Koch Brothers to give him money, so that he could generate a fake temperature graph, pretend it had converted him from a skeptic to an alarmist, and then achieve fame through his fake global warming narrative.

Satellites show there has been no warming over the global land surface for the past 15 years.

Yet Muller’s group shows the land surface warming at a rate of about 3C/century during that same period.

ScreenHunter_1373 Jul. 28 08.21

Legitimate scientists would be very concerned about this huge discrepancy vs. more accurate satellite data, and would not publish until they had it resolved.

Muller was never a skeptic, and always wanted to prove that the Hockey Stick was correct.

By Richard Muller on December 17, 2003

Let me be clear. My own reading of the literature and study of paleoclimate suggests strongly that carbon dioxide from burning of fossil fuels will prove to be the greatest pollutant of human history. It is likely to have severe and detrimental effects on global climate. I would love to believe that the results of Mann et al. are correct, and that the last few years have been the warmest in a millennium.

Thank you, Steven, for having the courage to call a spade a shovel.

Dr. Muller did not advance the good name of UC-Berkeley.

    • stewart pid says:

Muller laughed all the way to the Mercedes dealership. His new Benz has a vanity plate reading “LEGITIMATE SCIENTIST” & so he figures everything is alright in the Climastrology world 😉

  2. Eliza says:

And Mosh and Zeke are honored to be part of that team hahahah what a joke.

  3. R. Shearer says:

Mann presents a flat hockey stick with blade pointing down. 🙂

Welcome to the New World Order, as confirmed by the very BEST academic institutions.

The question: Did George Orwell know when he started writing “1984”, in 1946, that Fred Hoyle was also writing papers in 1946 that would destroy the foundations of astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology?

      • omanuel says:

I am personally offended by Dr. Muller’s “science,” having been a graduate student and post-graduate student in 1962-64 at UC-Berkeley and organizer of a symposium on the “Origin of Elements in the Solar System” in 1999 with Dr. Glenn Seaborg, Nobel Laureate in Nuclear Chemistry and former Chancellor at UC-Berkeley.

  5. geran says:

Dang, I was hoping Mosh would leave a comment here.

    (I sure miss his dis-connected, comical rants….)

    • stewart pid says:

Go to WUWT … he regularly posts nonsense although his last bunch of posts that I read (about a week ago) were decent …. he played well with others for a change.

      • geran says:

Yeah, maybe the whole WUWT crowd is trying to clean up their act, now that “real science” has whipped their behinds.

        It wil take bulldozers….

        • geran says:

“will”, not “wil”, darn, and I actually reread it. (I rarely have the time to reread.)

  6. De Paus says:

Dear Tony, NOAA is claiming that June 2014 average land and ocean temperatures was the warmest June since records begun in 1880. Is this a new data tampering scheme? I wonder how many accurate land and especially ocean temperature data there were available back then in 1880. And how come that most of the warming is always taking place in remote areas, like eastern Siberia and Central Africa, where people do not have good communications like internet to tell us whether it is really that warm or may-be not?

The Washington Post has no critical remarks: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/wp/2014/07/21/june-2014-was-earths-warmest-on-record-as-ocean-temperatures-surged/
Neither do other MSM show the ability to make critical remarks: http://www.usatoday.com/story/weather/2014/07/21/june-record-heat/12943367/

    http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/atmospheric-heating-continues-as-noaa-shows-june-2014-was-hottest-on-record/
And so on and so on. What is your vision about this new NOAA warmist claim?

  7. Steve Case says:

Muller’s right in there Dr, Peter Gleick

    • omanuel says:

As more information is revealed, you will learn that Gleick and Muller are in the good company of some Nobel Prize winners and leaders of the US NAS, the UK RS, the NAS of Sweden & Norway that hand out Nobel Prizes for “science and peace.”

Berkeley Uni and the BEST products defines a new level of CAGW (Catagorically Absurd Global Warming)

  9. Dave N says:

That Muller says he was “never a skeptic” indicates he is not a scientist; all true scientists are skeptics in the original sense of the word. (hint: look up what the latin and greek equivalents mean)

  10. Patrick L. Boyle says:

Muller has ben around for awhile. This is at least the forth scientific controversy that I have heard him participate in.

He first became famous ( but not very famous) with the Alvarez Irridium-Gubio hypothesis. He believed that he saw a 26 million year periodicity in earth’s mass extinctions. He thought it meant that there was a hidden planet that periodically swept through the Oort cloud and knocked some comets into earth orbit. He called this planet ‘Nemeses’. A lot of eople have looked but no one has ever spotted this phantom planet.

Next Muller appointed himself the tutor for the next President. He taught a class at Berkeley that was nominally a course for those who would run for the Presidency. As far as I know no candidate signed up.

Then he developed his own original theory of ice ages. He hypothesized that the earth and it’s neighbors periodically dipped into the obscuring gas and dust of our spiral galaxy nebula and grew colder. Later we would wobbled back up out of the dust and gas and warmth would return. About five years ago he announced that he had disproven his own theory – he dropped it.

At the time that McIntire was demolishing Mann’s Hockey Stick Muller wrote in his blog that he was shocked. He saw the climate controversy at that point as a scandal.

I don’t remember him ever actually being a climate skeptic.

  11. omanuel says:

Any real scientist on the AGW team would have stepped forward in Dec 2013 to help members of the US Congressional Space Science & Technology Committee reply to two still unanswered questions:

Why were we deceived about the source of energy in cores of heavy atoms and stars immediately after the end of WWII ?

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10640850/WHY.pdf

  12. Andy DC says:

Only thru the wizardry produced by NOAA climate scientists can every month be the warmest ever and every year be the warmest ever, when there is absolutely no warming going on.

    • omanuel says:

Yes, they have made a mockery of the scientific method and of the very best research institutions in the world.

But our best course of action today is to forgive them for foolishly trying to save themselves and the world from nuclear destruction in by deceiving the public about the source of energy in heavy atoms and stars.

If you and I had been leaders of the US, USSR, UK, China and France in 1945 we might have made the same decision.

Now we need to put sixty-nine years of government deceit behind us and work together for the promises that Aston promised mankind on 12 Dec 1922: “Powers beyond the dreams of scientific fiction !

  13. Justa Joe says:

If one has observed lefty politics it was fairly easy to predict the invention of a Mosher type myth.

They always trot out their guy that used to be (pick an opponent), but has come over to seeing things the left’s way and is appalled by his former cohorts. i.e. a Jon Huntsman, Jr. -to name but one. The left and their media always want someone that has some Bona fides in the other camp to denounce the opposition.

Funny thing is life long Sierra clubber, Mosher, has no skeptical Bona fides except that he wrangled some money from the Koch Bros.

  14. Eliza says:

Well at least Muller did not accept what was done with the OK stick. If I recall in his video he said he would never trust any Mann that would do such a thing (add temps to the wooden files) LOL

  15. Eliza says:

OKY DOKEY stick sounds better hahaha.
