Government experts tell us that the weather is getting hotter and more extreme, because it is their job to lie about the climate. Their job keeps getting tougher.
- The US is currently experiencing the longest stretch of years (almost 9) without a major (category 3-5) hurricane strike.
- US tornadoes have been record low, or near record low for the past three years
- Global temperatures have been flat for 18 years
- US temperatures (before data tampering) have been declining for 90 years
- Winter snow cover has been increasing across the northern hemisphere, to record levels over the past decade.
- The amount of old thick ice in the Arctic has nearly doubled over the past three years
- Antarctic sea ice is at record high levels
- The US is having one of the coldest years on record.
- Except for the west coast, the US is almost drought and fire free this summer.
The oceans ate my homework. Yeah, that’s it.
I understand that hurricanes have not hit the US. Does that mean they are not forming or just not hitting hitting land?
The wind speeds of a hurricane or cyclone that hits land is easier to verify and confirm by people who are independent of governments, compared to a hurricane or cyclone that never comes close to land.
Most satellite imagery of hurricanes and cyclones over oceans is generally not verified and confirmed by people who are independent of governments.
Science involves the need for independent verification and independent confirmation of empirical data, observations, measurements, etc.
There were lots of hurricanes before 2013, but very few hitting the US.
Thanks for the reply. Same frequency is not an increase. Also, no increase in severity. Does that mean that counting landfalls is pointless?
JST1 there are sites showing hurricane tracks for each year etc … I will see if I can find one. Also for current I use intellicast just because I go there for other weather info and their hurricane / storm section is okay. Look under storms for the hurricane section but here is the Atlantic link http://www.intellicast.com/Storm/Hurricane/AtlanticAnalysis.aspx
More storm track maps than u can shake a stick at here http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=atlantic+hurricane+storm+tracks&qpvt=atlantic+hurricane+storm+tracks&FORM=IGRE#a
Thank you Stewart.
Look up “ACE” Accumulated Cyclonic Energy. Includes all hurricanes, their wind field, strength, and duration. It is down..
Now the alarmists are trying to count Hawaii as a landfalling US hurricane strike. They are so full of it. Plus the storm in question is nowhere near a hurricane when it “struck” Hawaii, even if you give into their stupid notion.
Perhaps they’ll claim that a hurricane struck “even if they have to redefine what a hurricane is!”?
Quod Erat Demonstrandum
Hey Tony! “Except for the west coast, the US is almost drought and fire free this summer.”
The sad (crazy? delusional?) part is the CAGW true believers will latch on to the tiny bit above and gibber as loud as they can, “SEE! THE WEST COAT IS BURNING UP! WE TOLD YOU! WE TOLD YOU!”
Someone brilliant said, “You can’t reason a person out of a belief that he didn’t reason himself in to.”
Sigh… I usually just ignore my own typos — but “west coat”?! OK, “west coast”.
As we call it in Canada (BC) the left coast!!
We had an extreme drought a few years ago in the Southeast. Now it’s normal. Weather changes, people should know that by now. The quacks use weather incidents to confuse gullible voters.
Here in mid North Carolina my mold is growing mold.
Our mold keeps getting washed away. I’m just inland between Orlando and the Space Coast in Florida and I’m thinking about asking my farrier to put flippers on my horse and mule… half my pasture’s inundated and nary a TS or Hurricane in sight.
We’ll I know that area well. You’re in the St. John’s flood plain!!!
Unfortunately it is only these kind of reports
that actually AFFECT the mainstream folks, but were getting there LOL
Gotta love this – while Obama is telling us to de-industrialise, because the world’s burning up, he’s complaining that the water at Martha’s Vinyard is a little cold. Seriously, do lefties have any self-insight whatsoever?
The dimbulb-in-chief forgot that the ocean ate all the missing heat and he should be pretending it’s a hot-tub and sweat profusely when in the water.
“Seriously, do lefties have any self-insight whatsoever?”
Not much…For the most part, lefties simply do not think — at least not in the sense of logical, rational thought. They emote, they feel, they may even channel disembodied spirits! But thinking? Not so much. There is a reason why you do not find many lefties among engineers or in the hard sciences. You do find them in academia — in surplus! — but concentrated in the more nebulous fields of study, the fields where correctness of answers is based not on objective facts but rather on how many of your associates agree.
the weather Brahmans here in Minnesota are now spewing the story line that this horrible “summer” is actually ‘normal’ and that we only think it’s cold because the last couple of summers were so hot. I’ve got a news flash for them. I’ve lived here for more than two decades and this is the worst summer ever. We didn’t even have ‘summer’ until the last week of July. Up until then it varied between ‘May’ and ‘October’ weather throughout June and most of July.
“Who ya gonna believe, me or your rain soaked freezing self?” – The Ministry Of Truth
Minnesota summers used to be much hotter, prior to about 1960.
Quite a flood event up in the Detroit area yesterday and last night. The trucking company I work for has a terminal off of Wayne Road near the airport. Water over 2′ deep where the trailers were backed into the docks. Wayne road blocked by flooding so drivers had to enter the back way.
Meanwhile at my own little corner of the earth a little SE of Anderson, IN I did not mow my yard this weekend due to lack of rain. It is as if Summer has finally arrived here in mid August. Usually the yard starts browning by early July. Now I have just a couple brown spots that have appeared in the last week.
Whats the point of this? Just saying that the average person doesn’t need instruments to note the changes from year to year and to notice what is exceptional. They can see it by simple observation over time in their own areas. That is why all the kings horse and all the kings men cannot put the Humpty Dumpty of AGW together again not matter what their credentials or positions may be and no matter how much of the record they distort. They simply can’t pull the wool over the eyes of the rational in Joe public no matter how many lies they pile upon each other.
There will come a tipping point eventually.
dpn’t need to pull the wool over the eyes of a lot of voters. The Kardashian fans don’t care. And the worshippers of abortion have other issues to worry about.
worshippers of abortion … WTF??
Ever heard of NARAL ?
You are right – people, not everybody, but observant people, notice the weather and climate over time. I know I have, and it just isn’t getting hotter summer after summer – it’s getting cooler here in Phoenix. This has been a mild summer – it is just amazing how mild it has been. And August has been amazing. Barely gets over 100 F and then only for a little while and it cools off in the late afternoon.
Steven lived here in the hot years and one factor out here is that the late afternoon in summer generally scorches! And frequently it will not cool off all night. Also weird cooling I have never noticed out here. About three weeks ago I camped out about halfway to San Diego out in the desert, and it was monsoon. Warm all night, mosquitoes, rained a little around 10:00 PM, but at about 3:00 AM it got really humid and chilly! Very weird.
Last weekend I camped at 6000 feet – and it got downright cold. People, this is August in Southern Arizona! Now I’m sure it is all within normal temperature ranges historically, but isn’t it suppose to be getting unlivable hot in the desert Southwest?
So far, the predictions are not coming true. It is just fine here. I’ll let you all know when it is becoming unlivable. A friend of mine has a place on the beach in Huntington Beach California, and he is keeping his eyes on the sea-level rise catastrophic forecasts. I’ll also let everyone know if he is getting flooded. He’s just renting so don’t worry.
It’s been like that in Yuma, also. Several Saturdays back we had a record low low and probably a low high record. I saw a high of 89, but Weather Underground claimed it got up to 91 after the fact. We drove to Show Low the next day. Two hours west of there it was late afternoon with rain. Our car thermometer said it was 63 degrees outside and it was a shock to get out of the car a little later. We were at 7,500 feet at the time.
Today was around 98 degrees for a high with showers. We are definitely in a down trend.
Steve, may I use your list for a letter to the Editor? Thanks.
Is the increasing albedo from increasing snow cover of any significance?
Al doesn’t need to beat. He gets massages. (Gore that is). Albedo has always been insignificant. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t have ice ages.
So under the guise of AGW, CAGW, climate change, etc., the WH has restricted freedoms, ensured that taxes and costs rose and spent billions a year of our money to achieved what? Keep the US and it’s citizens safer? Keep the economy in good order?
What has the UN-IPCC done apart from try and make people fearful while spending more and more of your money? Try and list the good that UN-IPCC has done for you and your family, for anyone other than themselves.
It is one massive fail we all are paying for.
It is a major success in the real aim which is UN agenda 21.
The Agenda no one dare speak of.
UN agenda 21 and the left can’t believe they have managed to flim-flam their way so far, those on the right shout but no one hears.
They have had sixty-nine years to practice the art of deception:
picture is priceless
Lots of rain here in the Sierra Nevada and the Great Basin the last month or so.
That is awesome. It can’t be often those Bonneville salt flats are flooded.
Lake Eyre in Australia, where Donald Campbell achieved the land speed record in 1964, fills with La Nina and filled in 2010/11 after big cyclones hit Queensland. Typically only fills a few times each century.
whoops….forgot….Bonneville salt flat speed week canceled, too much water on the playa….
After WWII ended, American scientists took public funds to hide knowledge of the source of energy in cores of uranium atoms that destroyed Hiroshima on 6 Aug 1945.
However the same source of energy in the core of the Sun is the Creator, Destroyer and Sustainer of every atom, life and world in the solar system:

We realize we know only a little, but it is now clear that the 1945 decision to save the world by hiding the source of energy that sustains life elevated world leaders to the position God had historically occupied as ruler of the world!
There is zero chance that project will succeed, but governments and their entire pseudoscience structure will be destroyed together if they do not yet grasp the ancient teaching: “Truth is victorious, never untruth.
Going down into the 50s in Mid-Tn area tonite.
This one’s a rather average Autumnal Blast here. It didn’t get as cool as the blast two weeks ago. We got two weeks of ‘summer’, well, not quite; given the lower than humidity, so only HH. The average high hits 90F in early June and remains there through early September. We might have had 30 or so days of 90+ this year to date and might get 10 to 20 more before the mid-September big cool-off. If we get a real Indian Summer (we’ve not had many of them to my recollection the last 30 or so years) we might see 90 for a few days over Oct and Nov, before the secondary tornado season sets in. October is our driest month. Our seasons are: Wet, Summer, and Dry.
