I Blame Global Warming

Scientists say CO2 is the control knob, and the US is about to pass nine years without a major hurricane strike, the longest such period on record.

This is clearly your fault, and you should feel ashamed. That and the record low number of tornadoes, and the 10 year minimum in fire burn acreage. And the record Great Lakes ice. And the record Antarctic sea ice. And the 80% growth in Arctic sea ice volume. And the record snow cover. And the record low number of hot days in the Eastern US.

It is all your fault – for overheating the planet.

To think that we did all that! Too bad we can steer Gonzalo away from Bermuda though. Looks like the onions are in for a tough one.

  2. Alexej Buergin says:

And the number of natural desasters was at a record low for the decade, and there were 22’500 dead instead of 100’000 (the average).

See (from the Red Cross) the World Disasters Report:

I am so ashamed that I don’t know how I can live with myself! lol

  4. QV says:

Of course if there is an increase in these things it will be blamed on CO2, without mentioning the decline!

  5. theyouk says:

And QV, that is exactly the problem. We have a generation of folks growing up with an expectation that ‘normal’ is such low density of bad weather events. Thus, when things regress to the mean again, it will be positioned as “See! We told you CO2 was bad…and you are evil.” We are surrounded (and governed) by ignorant and apathetic morons.

  6. Climatism says:

Reblogged this on Climatism and commented:
And the 18 years of zero global warming. (Of course).

  7. R. Shearer says:

There are a few people in Bermuda wetting their shorts today, however.

  8. Andy DC says:

Let’s not forget the ideal growing season, with record corn and soybean crops.

  9. geran says:

But, the oceans have all boiled away.

(That is why sea levels are not rising.)

  10. Andy Oz says:

    Well that’s totally depressing.
Just when my therapist convinced me I wasn’t solely to blame for destroying the worlds climate – Steve “drags me back in!”

I’ll feel guilty on my next jet flight to Bali to escape the extreme heat of Perth.

In a puff of blue steam…

  12. Joel Martin says:

Not to be picky but it’s been only 6 years since Hurricane Ike. Certainly a major hurricane, especially if you lived through it.
