Obama’s CO2 Games Are A Joke

ScreenHunter_5073 Dec. 10 08.31

The US generates 13% of global CO2. If we reduced emissions by 20%, that would cut us down to about 10% of current global emissions.

However, Obama agreed to let China increase their emissions for the next 16 years. At China’s  current growth rates, there will be a huge increase in global CO2 emissions, which will place any US reductions in the noise.

The reason that China agreed to it, is because it puts American industry at a competitive disadvantage due to increased fuel costs. It was a win-win for China. They do nothing, while Obama shoots the US in the foot.

Seeing as US citizens have on average an extra 8 years of life expectancy over the rest of the globe and Russians, 2.5 years more than Chinese and 16.5 more than Indians, I’ll keep my western industrialization thank you.

  2. Idiot Award of the Year. What a farce. There’s no such thing as “carbon pollution” or “greenhouse gas warming” for one simple reason: the second law of thermodynamics. You can’t heat a body with its own radiation. No matter how much CO2 we pump into the air, all it can do is prevent heat loss. It can’t possibly heat Earth, as the greenhouse gassers claim, because in order to do that, the atmosphere would have to be hotter than Earth. Trapped Earth radiation can’t do that. The only thing that can is higher energy solar radiation. Greenhouse warming is a myth, end of story.

  3. Anto says:

The commies managed to substitute CO2 for actual pollution. Extremely unfortunate, for all concerned. If they’d stuck to pollution, then I’d still be on board.

  4. cheshirered says:

For the Chinese this was the political equivalent of the snooker ‘shot to nothing’ – almost no downside but plenty of potential upside, maybe including a shot at a game-winning chance.

For the POTUS this was nothing more than self-indulgent legacy posturing. Quite astonishing.

    • Gail Combs says:

It is interesting that at Lima, China is refusing any type of ‘oversight’ by other countries, the UN or NGOs in regards to CO2 pollution. (Mentioned at Jo Nova’s)

      • cheshirered says:

Does that sound like the actions of a nation that is:
        A) on-message with climate bed-wetters and determined to reduce their economy to rubble,
        or
        B) that has no intention of agreeing to any binding treaties, nor allowing any inspections of any sort by outside interests.
        Hmm, tricky one.

China is also not at war with a billion furious, suicidal Muslims nor is at war with Russia!

Instead, they just signed a juicy energy deal with Russia for more fossil fuel in the form of gas.

Thanks for continued updates on toppling the International Tower of Babel, an international Matrix of Deceit. Another Orwellian response was posted on Climate Etc today: “CO2 itself isn’t classified as an air pollutant — CO2 emissions are.”

Five years of Orwellian responses to Climategate revelations confirm that delusions of power in world leaders and their science advisers are addictive, but today I am confident Truth will yet be revealed by another traumatic event, like:
_ 1. The destruction of Hiroshima in August 1945
“One day in August 1945, while standing in the ruins of Hiroshima, I became overpowered by the power of nuclear energy. The sight before my eyes was just like the end of the world, but I also felt that the beginning of the world may have been just like this.” – P.K. Kuroda

_ 3. The event Isaiah 40:5 described ~2,500 years ago
“The glory of the Lord shall be revealed
    And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

  7. The top image of “Who pollutes the most?” confirms my bias of hating “others.” Damn them for all their polluting.

  8. emsnews says:

I own the top of this small NY mountain. All my trees are saying, ‘Thank you for your CO2. We love it!’

  9. philjourdan says:

Obama is not playing games. He believes it. That makes him an idiot. Not a court jester.

    • Gail Combs says:

I really doubt if he believes it. What he believes in is the ‘Cause’ and any means is justified to reach that cause.

What is ‘Social Justice’? It is bring the western middle class down to the level of the poor. That is Obama’s goal. That is his ’cause’ — the complete destruction of the USA. And CAGW is the best method of achieving it because without cheap reliable energy this country will collapse into a bloodbath. Obama is making sure of that too as he pits the blacks against the police and police against all citizens while he floods the country with illegals.

  10. Rosco says:

The Chinese also now make most of the renewable energy machines and produce most of the rare earth minerals required in these machines.

They have simply conned everyone while creating demand for stock they were having trouble selling.

Only an idiot could think the deal favoured anyone else – China has already saturated the markets with consumer goods so this “deal” reinvigorates a sector that was in decline as western governments bankrupt themselves trying to play God.

  11. david says:

I think most people are looking at past results and extrapolating into the future similar to starting sea ice grafts for the Arctic in 1979 instead of 1972. China’s emissions will fall with improved technologies and as their population falls due to the one child policy. I would imagine with just technological changes will cut emissions of all kinds in half.

  12. B says:

Impoverishing americans has been the goal of the CO2 global warming crowd for at least 20 years. The 1996 Kyoto accord made that evident when they decided CO2 from China was okay and CO2 from the USA was bad.

Reblogged this on Centinel2012 and commented:
This is exactly right this administration is doing everything it can to make it impossible to make anything or grow anything in this country!
