US Winters Getting Much Colder

Now the same people say that the cold nights are due to extreme weather caused by climate change. This also is mindless superstition. There has been no long term trend in the number of 0F nights in the US over the past century.

Looking at the second graph, (Percentage Nights Below Zero from about 1915 to present) I am struck by the year to year changes. It actually looks like the long term average stays the same, but we have a 70 or 80 year cycle of increasing and decreasing variability.
