I have three favorite life stories:
Odysseus spent 20 years lost in the wilderness, because he believed he was in control. The gods were angry at him, and would not let him return home until he acknowledged that they controlled his fate.
Adam and Eve were sent out of the Garden of Eden for rejecting the grace God had given them, and replacing it with their feeble intellects. That is a story which we all deal with constantly in our lives.
Lot’s wife was turned into a pillar of salt, because she looked back. Looking back is a rejection of the path we are on, and ties into the two stories above.
He who hesitates, is lost
‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. – Revelation 3:16
