Negotiators inch closer to historic climate pact to limit global warming – The Globe and Mail
COP 21 climate criminals vow to keep warming below 1.5 degrees, which is very interesting given that they claim warming is already 1.4 degrees – and China is building a new coal plant every ten days. Achieving their goal will require that Gavin stops tampering with temperatures immediately.
So what is the game they are playing? I have several theories :
- Stealing money from Americans – Obama is certainly on board with that
- Wrecking America’s energy infrastructure – Obama is certainly on board with that
- Making America less competitive – Obama is certainly on board with that
- Taking credit for saving the planet – Obama is certainly on board with that
But the missing piece of the puzzle is, how do they get the scientists on the gravy train to quit tampering with data and pretend that the imaginary crisis is resolved? There are some serious logistical problems behind shutting down a fraud of this magnitude.
seems to me that there has been no change in weather for the past 92 years
at least here
in South Africa
I’ll bet half the delegates think it’s 1.5 degrees from now, and not from “pre-industrial times”.
However, I predict a miraculous reduction in temperature (to what they actually are now) over the next few years.
It’s Alice in Wonderland stuff.
I think that Obama will come out with a deal — with someone — independent of the rest of the parties. And then lie about it. Similar to China’s “promise” of what they were going to do anyway in return for America hamstringing itself.
I’d bet Obama will commit to billions to other nations just to say he has a deal. The rest of the parties will privately smile.

Yes Keith, just like his save the world agreement with Iran, which we now find out they never signed, but the billions will be released to them anyway.
Steven, several blog posts ago you denigrated NOAA for predicting a warm December for the US. Then a few days ago you doubled down with a claim that a cold spell in the US would begin yesterday. This is what happened through today: http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/map/images/fnl/sfctmpmer_01a.fnl.anim.html
Were you wrong about NOAA? Was your prediction wrong? Or is this another example of fraud? Is it really colder than normal outside there?
Poor Martin, reduced to what happens in a one day period.
Martin, what did you think of the Os agreement to allow China to increase their emissions however they wished, and of the agreement with Iran which they never signed?
Still not learned the difference between weather and climate, little Martikins?
Why does that not surprise me?
December is only 1/3 over. Next week a cold blast is coming. Down to the teens in Denver. Mild in NE East and South.
Also, because of El Nino “early snows have gifted Western ski resorts, including in California, with their best start-of-season conditions in years, triggering snow sliders’ recurring fever dreams of an epic winter.
“Odds are stacked in favor of a wetter, stormier and snowier winter for the southern half of California,” OntheSnow.com reports. “The Sierra in general should do much better than the last couple winters, with snowfall amounts normal to above normal…. Most of the Tahoe resorts should get close to normal snowfall, which is still a huge improvement.”
Snowfall will be a thing of the past? Greens want to make energy prices skyrocket, make elderly and poor suffer, to save the oceans from rising.
Joe Bastardi says that January through March will be the worst of winter it for most of us in the east and all the way down into Texas which BTW has had much cooler than normal temps this month. But there is a blast of cold air coming down and it’s going to bring considerable snow to the NE and for us in Indiana. So our probability of a White Christmas has just gone up.
Not a major disagreement, but the recent N Calif storms are classic winter storms from Alaska. If we get El Nino Storms they will be pineapple express warm air mixing with the colder air. However the best news is so far the RRR is gone, which if it continues means the blob will rapidly dissipate as well, which means post this El Nino, the GAT is likely to take a triple trifecta plunge with a dropping AMO, a disappearing blob, and a forming La Nina, add in a quet Sun and the pause may jump to 35 years plus.
That could be a MAJOR problem.
The very last thing the world needs is a drop in global temperatures taking us back nearer the coldest period of the last 10,000 years..
I appears this El Nino is about to start it’s down slide. The question is how deep that down slide will be. If Joe Bastardi and the guys at Weaterhbell are right we’re in for a deep La Nina. The next couple years it is going to be interesting to watch. If there is a strong and persistent La Nina combined with a negative AMO and cooling AMOC it is going to be a relatively cold and stormy time for a lot of the US. And even the kids at Lands end in Great Britain are liable to know what snow is.
Possibly true Andy, but something has to kill the farce of CAGW, and pain is sometimes a necessary prod to memory.
This drop may well occur. Recently Mann revived the slowing of the Atlantic currents fear again, likely in anticipation of such a drop, so this junk science may be his “your SUV still done it” attempt, yet the collapse of their all in “warmest ever mantra” has got to further ding them in the publics perception.
Though it may get considerably cooler for a time for most of the US and Europe in particular the alarmists will probably have plenty of other stuff to divert the attention from this.
If things follow the normal La Nina and AMO/AMOC patterns we’re in for two or three hyperactive Atlantic hurricane seasons and tornado incidence and severity increasing up to or beyond average during that time.
We will need to be really pound the point that this will be contrary to their previous claims of greater severe weather incidence during warm times, because this is going to occur when most of the US will be cooler than normal.
I just did a quick analysis of the Paris Agreement. It is a toothless farce.

COP21, winner of the latest Obie Award!
Gator, my concern is as Keith said in his post about Parris, “The only person foolish enough to commit to goals that would bring tremendous harm to his own country is President Obama”
I would never argue that Obama is trying to destroy America. I am simply pointing out that the King of Leftists places empty rhetoric above useful actions. And that COP21 is definitely not useful, and certainly is empty religious rhetoric where it’s supposed main focus, climate, is concerned.
Irrelevant, the US is only 4% of the Earth’s surface. 😉
You have to love Josh’s work 🙂
I don’t love it as I can’t understand it.
A key part of a cartoon is that people can understand it, otherwise it is bollocks and inbred it is. ITS SHIT!!
“Billions in climate aid pledges have ‘wild west’ accounting”
esboella: “I don’t love it as I can’t understand it.”
You’re a bit fick, innit?
Your ignorance of things that are happening is the issue….
….. not the rather pointed and funny cartoon. 🙂
“I don’t love it as I can’t understand it.”
Poor ebola.. you must live a joyless life.
Memorable Kerry quotes from COP21:
“You can take the US out of this. Take the developed world out of this. Remember, the Earth has a problem. What will you do with the problem on your own?”
“I would love to have a legally binding agreement. But the situation in the US is such that legally binding with respect to finance is a killer for the agreement.”
Summary: The progressive bully admits the next administration will not pay up.
The referenced article made me laugh, and a little sick to my stomach: http://www.business-standard.com/article/current-affairs/us-threatens-to-walk-out-of-paris-pact-over-financial-obligations-115121100913_1.html
The White House is an official tool shed.
The California dystopian Green dream is already materializing with 5th highest electricity rates and highest gasoline prices in the nation!
California has the “5th highest residential electricity prices in the nation and the nation’s highest gasoline prices. Research shows, these prices are likely to rise even higher both absolutely and in comparison with prices in other states, as restrictions on carbon dioxide emissions increase and the state weans itself entirely from the least expensive source of electric power, coal fired power plants, as required by law. ”
While they brag about green energy, “California imports electricity from neighboring states and as much as half of Southern California’s electric generation comes from coal-fired generating plants in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. In addition, California is one of the nation’s largest industrial consumers of coal. In 2013, it was the eighth-biggest industrial coal user, consuming 1.4 million tons.”
“a new natural gas-fired plant is about twice as expensive as an existing coal-fired plant and a new wind plant is 2 to 3 times as expensive as an existing coal plant.”
“As California’s utilities and municipal users wean themselves from coal, their electric power rates, already among the highest in the nation, will rise”
California did have the highest but PA just instituted new taxes earlier this year that put them at or above CA I believe. In fact fuel prices are so high in PA that the trucking company I work for has a policy that we can only fuel there in the event of an emergency. Since PA is a long state east to west and I go there quite often I have to trip plan to avoid fueling there. Thus as I write this my tractor is sitting with 1/2 fuel. We are only allowed to fuel once every 24 hours so If I fuel at my home terminal when there is a possibility I may be called to go to PA 10 hours later I would be screwed. So not filling up when I get back to the home terminal in central Indiana assures that if I get called to go to PA I can fuel at the Morristown, OH exit where our last fuel point is along I-70 in Ohio going east. Thus 42 miles later when I enter PA I have virtually full fuel to go where ever I need to go in that state.
rah, I see they passed the tax to help repair roads and bridges. I guess they gotta do it.
But I can see why a trucker that takes quite a few gallons for one fill would want to avoid any extra costs. When gas prices went up to $4/gallon, it crippled our economy. I remember many truckers had to shut down because it was no longer profitable. The Greens don’t seem to think these things through.
For the record, I was once a Greenie myself. But I finally saw behind the green mask. It has also been with the help of people like Tony and the others that post here that has helped me fully understand many of the issues surrounding this political and emotional topic. Common sense says a modern economy needs cheap and abundant energy. When I realized CO2 is not the problem they claim, I jumped ship.
I like to believe common sense will prevail in the long run, as many other countries are starting to realize the cost of this pipe dream!
The good news for me, I am no longer depressed and don’t feel guilt and despair for turning on my heat or having a refrigerator! I’ve been set free of the Green religion!
Be safe out there.
Fuel is the single largest operating expense for trucking companies. And your right. When it starts costing over $1,000 for a trucker to fill his tanks profit margins for most independents get close to zip. Thus during the time your talking about a whole lot of independents parked their rigs. The ones that had paid for their rig were better off of course because a whole lot of guys just staring out lost everything. Lots of independents went to work for larger trucking companies as company drivers during that time.
Fact is that for the first half of the decade I have driving professionally PA was voted as having the worst roads of any state. I think that is why they were so slow to raise their speed limits above the double nickle after the all knowing Federal government finally allowed it. But on the other hand, they have some serious toll roads and if the funds from that were used properly I suspect that this tax raise would not have been necessary.
I forgot to add “10-4 good buddy” 🙂
Do truckers still use CBs? My handle when I was a kid was “gungy wolf”. My dad had a CB and we’d talk to truckers along the highway to go camping for the weekend. They’d warn about five-O up ahead. I’ve thought if the cell phones went out, we might need CBs and Ham radio to communicate again. Loved the song “Convoy”. Ha!
Including “rubber duck” Kris Kristofferson and Ernest Borgnine
I’ve always enjoyed the piece, but I confess to a preference for other Mannheim Steamroller albums such as “Fresh Aire III.”
===|==============/ Keith DeHavelle
I hardly use the CB at all now days. Just when time is very critical and I can’t afford any hold ups or when I get into a back up. Occasionally turn it on when in traffic to hear some funny and pathetic stuff being said. But 95% of the time the thing is turned off because there are so many idiots out there. I used it earlier this week though. Ran into a back up due to an accident while heading home on I-70 just west of Dayton. Legal running time was short and I had to determine if I should get off and go around it on US 40 or wait it out. Based on what I heard I waited it out and it cost me 20 minutes.
The only real convoys, and by “real” I mean 20 trucks or so, I have ever ran in were late at night or in the early hours of the morning. Lots of the pros that are working run then and sometimes I have linked up with a convoy of them. Back when IL had a 55 mph speed limit and they led the nation in tickets issued there would times a we would intentionally bunch up and hammer down while going 70 mph or so across I-70. Never had any IL cop try to stop something like that late at night. One really is safer from the predators in a herd and the bigger the herd the safer one is in those situations.
Oh dear…. your taxes pay for their good times.
“Not only does no one care if carbon credits don’t cut carbon emissions, but hardly anyone cares if so called climate money is even spent on the climate. As many as 66% of climate projects funded by the developed world have nothing to do with “climate vulnerability”.”
As soon as the money is in the bag at the UN/IPCC Cop21 Fest, the order will go out for the loyal climate scientists to reverse their tampering of the data, slowly enough, to show that the complete wastage of money is actually achieving its goal. This will also allow Obama to steal more money from Americans, wreck America’s energy infrastructure, make America less competitive and allow Obama to take credit, single-handed, for the triumph of ‘Saving the Planet’
I predict the USCRN data will suddenly become a “new” revelation.
