  1. gator69 says:

Bernt Balchen (23 October 1899 – 17 October 1973) was a pioneer polar aviator, navigator, aircraft mechanical engineer and military leader. A Norwegian native, he later became a U.S. citizen, and was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross. His service in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II made use of his Arctic exploration expertise to help the Allies over Scandinavia and Northern Europe. After the war, Balchen continued to be an influential leader with the U.S. Air Force, as well as a highly regarded private consultant in projects involving the Arctic and aviation.

Great man who saw the “blip”.

  2. Marsh says:

I’m glad Bernt said “may produce” ice free Arctic Ocean by the year 2000… There is a World of difference between recognizing a natural trend against the Alarmist Propaganda from Warmists.

  3. Ann Inquirer says:

Meanwhile . . . in the Antarctic, expanding ice and an iceberg has led to the deaths of 150,000 penguins, nearly wiping out a penguin colony. Expanding ice is a severe threat to penguins since they must travel over ice from their nesting areas to the ocean to obtain food.

    • Marsh says:

Ann… the numbers and the situation is mostly Alarmist hype… Adelie Penguins at one location, have been landlocked due to “too much Ice”. ( CNN had earlier Reported ), “However” ; Adelie Penguins are thriving in another Colony just five miles away.??
Had they not considered; they’re likely the one’s that were landlocked,( not dead ).!
Scientists now admit they got it so wrong in counting Penguins. They discovered there is in fact : “twice as many Emperor Penguins than what alarmists previously thought” (all contrary to Global Warming Propaganda – just like the Polar Bear of the North).

  4. Jim Hunt says:

For some reason you’re very quiet on the Arctic sea ice front at the moment Steve? Hence I can’t find anywhere more recent to impart the shock news that you failed to win first prize in the 2015 Great White Con “New Einstein” awards:

The good news, however, is that Gail Combs did win! Perhaps you could pass on our message of congratulation and ask her to get in touch so that we can explain to her how she can take advantage of our astonishing prize?

Sad little child starver! Still trying to get visitors to his wacky little propaganda site that promotes polar bears over humans. It’s really pitiful to see threads where the blogger is the only commenter, the desperate smell of loneliness pervades.

So how many million have you helped to starve to death over the past decade Jim? Why not write a piece on that, like say when you hit 100 million?

      • Gator, that’s such an unscientific non sequitur. If you’d studied Marx and Lenin and understood their historical materialism you would know that they value children’s importance for the state but they are realistic about the expected losses in the struggle against the old ruling classes. Let’s not lose our composure over a few hundred million children.

    • RAH says:

So during an El Nino year ice at both poles is down relative to the record since 1979. So what!

Map showing maximum (April) sea ice extension in the Atlantic sector of the Arctic (Norwegian Polar Institute 2000). The map is based on a database on sea ice extension in the area shown during the past 400 years, to a high degree based on written records found in ships logbooks.

    • AndyG55 says:

Zero sea ice through the first 3/4 of the Holocene,
Massive sea ice through the LIA..
Still haven’t recovered to the Holocene average, has it , Jimbo.
Still WAY TOO MUCH Arctic sea ice.

You still can’t admit the truth to yourself can you.
And when you LIE to yourself, you will LIE to anybody.

Crawl back to your desolate little CON site, Jimbo, give yourself the attention you seek.

  5. Henry P says:

    My congrats to Gail

  6. AndyG55 says:

SG, I hope you don’t mind, but every Aussie out there needs to see this poll from 2GB and Andrew Bolt.. I will not be offended if you delete this post.

    • Marsh says:

      AndyG55 … Australians are waking up…
The difference is: Tony Abbott isn’t a good speaker but he is a doer & produces results. The new PM: Malcolm Turnbull is a great speaker but is a “show pony” with little/no substance,, swap back? (at least “neither” supports Climate Change propaganda).
