27,658 Days

It has been 27,658 days since the most powerful hurricane to ever hit the US struck. CO2 was well below the safe level of 350 ppm at the time.

It has been 6,849 days since a category five hurricane struck the US.

It has been 985 days since any hurricane hit the US. The longest hurricane-free spell since before the Civil War.

That will not immunize us from alarmist shrieking if one does occur.

  2. jim says:

Landfalls have nothing to do with ppm,we have just been lucky that steering currents have kept them away from the U.S, in fact there have been more powerful hurricanes in the Atlantic than I can ever remember, stop twisting the stats.

    • It is so weird how satellites in the 1930s missed those mid-Atlantic hurricanes.

    • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

Total cyclone energy world wide is going down. The argument that there are more hurricanes and cyclones happening around the world but they are steering clear of the United States is not true. There are less of them happening.

Northern Hemisphere and overall global tropical cyclone (TC) accumulated cyclone energy (ACE) has decreased dramatically to the lowest levels in at least 30-years.

        Forgive Jim,
He doesn’t bother to check the facts as he believes all the lies given to him the the calamatologists. I recall that there was higher hurricane frequence during the Little Ice Age. Ah, here it is:

From 1701 to 1850, for example, when the earth was locked in the icy grip of the Little Ice Age, major hurricane frequency was 2.77 times greater at Bermuda, Jamaica and Puerto Rico than it was from 1951 to 1998; and from 1851 to 1950, when the planet was in transition from Little Ice Age to current conditions, the three locations experienced a mean hurricane frequency that was 2.15 times greater than what they experienced from 1951 to 1998.

Lot of peer reviewed references there. 😉

And remember, we did not have doplar radar, as many ships, people or satellite during LIA.

      What does the data say?

Global Tropical Cyclone Frequency and ACE remain near the lowest levels since 1977

      graph of global activity:

The trend over the last 40 years is down.

Manmade co2 has increased over the last 40 years. And with the way China and India are racing to grow that total will continue to increase. Yet over the last 40 years cyclonic energy is going down. The ‘global warming’ hypothesis that hurricane energy will increase as manmade co2 goes up is wrong.

When a hypothesis does not have supporting evidence in the real world it is wrong and must be discarded.

The global warming hypothesis continues to not get supporting evidence. It is wrong and must be discarded.

      • Mike Davis says:

Without supporting evidence it becomes a modern day fairy tale for children that refuse to mature and live in the real world.

You have hit the nail on the head. Decades of increased co2, over 30 years of global warmin, the ‘warmest’ decade on the record, 2 hottest years on the record and ACE hurricane index is at a 30 year low. As I pointed out above there was also a higher frequency of hurricanes during the Little Ice Age. I think Warmists have got it the wrong way round. In any case 30 years is climate and there hypothesis on hurricanes has clearly been falsified. Why can’t they just be honest bout this???

When you look at who is set to benefit financially from man made global warming you will see that not only Al Gore intends to be rich from it but also such scum as the Rothschild family are the puppet masters of this scam. Its all a big scam to tax you for breathing, when I was a kid there was a joke that the Government would tax you for breathing air if they could and we all laughed at that statements ludicrous assertion now its turning true and all the sheeple out there are so stupid it will probably come to pass.

Everyone in the USA deserves exactly what the new world order crowd has in store for you due to your own stupidity.

STOP VOTING ( ITS RIGGED YOU FOOLS ) – CUT YOUR MONTHLY PAYOUTS TO MEDIA COMPANIES – RESEARCH WHO IS INVOLVED AND BOYCOTT THEIR BUSINESSES – SHOP AT THE SMALLEST MOM AND POP STORES YOU CAN RATHER THAN WALMART

On the other hand, it’s the most active tornado season in decades.

I don’t disagree there is global warming. Global warming theory states that as the atmosphere warms, more energy is added to the atmosphere and the atmosphere is more capable of retaining water. That doesn’t mean necessarily that the climate warms up, at least not initially, but it does mean there will be more severe storms everywhere. It can also mean there will be longer, snowier winters over a larger area due to the atmosphere having more capacity to spread snow, so there will be weather that might be colder in areas that it wasn’t before, at least ‘temporarily’ (by temporarily I mean for who knows how long) until the atmosphere reaches some sort of equilibrium, where it will be noticeably warmer.

What I don’t buy is that human activity is responsible for this, not when you can count that big ball in the sky as a culprit. I also believe that doing anything about it short of adapting to it is possible ( and the political ‘solutions’ are simply mendacious and cynical attempts at control).

      • Luke says:

Sorry, meant to say doing anything short of adapting to it was… impossible.

  3. Justa Joe says:

Hurricanes frequency and force must increase with AGW. Because hurricanes are “bad” and all “bad” things increase with AGW.

    • Jimbo says:

You have also hit the nail on the head. There is this silly thread going through their hypothesis that tornadoes and hurricanes will be more frequent or intense. The last 30 years of climate and relevant data has shown this to be clearly false. The recent tornado outbreak occured during cooling.

  4. Gaza says:

Guess – that the recent tornadoes don’t count?

  5. DougS says:

“…It has been 985 days since any hurricane hit the US. The longest hurricane-free spell since before the Civil War. ”

There you go again – trying to upset the apple cart by stating facts.

Don’t you know that absolutely everything that happens is due to AGW?

  6. traxiii says:

The increase during the Little Ice Age explains all those sunken ships full of treasure in the Caribbean, lost during those times.
